People judge because they feel they know that person before getting to know them, they judge as a way of hating people or things they don't like.

People have to judge everything - from their environment, to their interactions with others, in order to grow intellectually. I know it can be considered rude or pretentious to judge one's personal beliefs - but the ability to judge others is necessary for one to be truly free; the kind of society which condemns personal judgments is usually the kind which is authoritarian, through-and-through. Social norms are quite arbitrary and annoying, in my opinion. But again, when opposition to personal judgments itself becomes a social norm...something is very wrong

Everyone judges, it's part of life. People attribute traits to people, because thats the only way our conscious mind can communicate, with words. We do this every time we describe someone we are judging them by what we see. Throughout our life we do this enough were we find patterns, then we assign traits to people who fit this pattern. It happens sub-consciously, we block common experiences together. There-fore assigning traits to people we do not know, which in turn is judging them.

Misplaced ideas of superiority. They feel like they do no wrong, so they can pass judgement onto those of us who are flawed.

Human Nature.

Judgement is a natural survival instinct. We make hundreds of judgements every day and weigh our past experiences with the options at hand and make a decision based on our judgement and experience. It's completely natural.
