  • There's many reasons but if I should give you one good one than I'll try. I quit 6 months ago because I realized that I was using it simply as an emotional and social vice. I wasn't even addicted to them physically, just wanted one with I was sad because I couldn't think of something else to give emotional release. In social settings, it was because I was out with a lot of people, some smokers, seeing others not judge you makes you feel like you should do it too. You have to ask yourself if it's something you enjoy anymore or just a habit. Of course it's a habit but if you're doing just because you're addicted and you don't even like it anymore, get some help, lots of gums and patches and what not. If you're doing it because you feel like it relaxes you in various situations and you're not unhappy with the results, you don't need to quit. If you're unhappy with it and really want to stop, get help, do what you have to do to quit. There's a reason. But don't quit to avoid judgment. I don't care for people that talk about how gross of a habit it is and how you're going to die. You shouldn't be judged on your habits or vices

  • you can breathe better, others around you can breathe better..second hand smoke really does kill people..ask a friend of mine who has permanent lung damage from neighbors who smoke. I have asthma from growing up with a father who smoked like crazy..It saves you enough money that you can afford to eat out and take a vacation. Nobody can make you stop ..you have to want to
  • I quit because I didn't want to worry about getting cancer and because my breath would always smell like trash. Now I chew nicorette and that is good enough for me. It's also about the same price probably even cheaper, like $20 every 8-11 days.
  • you can prevent getting those HORRIBLE wrinkles around the lips that smokers get far worse than non smokers. eewwww!!!!!
  • So you won't get cancer and die, possibly at a very young age. I have lost 3 friends, one as young as 42 to lung cancer, one to chewing tobacco at the age of 24.
  • You might have to talk through one of them artificial Larynx things that make you sound like a robot.
  • don't quit. If you die early then I get the money you put into the Social Security system.
  • You can save a lot of money.
  • Your health, saving money, your family. Oops! That's three. Ixnay the last two...
  • I just quit (again), so here goes- 1. You'll smell better (The lady in your life will appreciate that) :-) 2. You don't wake up with a headache. You don't realise this until you quit. 3. It only takes you a minute to wake up instead of an hour. 4. You stop feeling perpetually grumpy because you want a cigarette. 5. In 3 months I've saved about £400. That's the best 5, good luck. Oh yes, and all that stuff about cancer. (Like we're not all gonna die anyway).
  • when you quit smoking your throat and lungs are healthier so your body finds it easier to fight off colds and flus. your lungs produces less phlegm Although everyone dies, quitting smoking gives you a real chance of dying of something painless instead of slowly suffocating due to excess phlegm and poor lung function over a period of years because of smoking related lung disease (although I have a fear of sufocation, so I might be biased on this one). people seem to think it's ok to say nasty things to and about smokers, so quitting smoking will lessen your chance of having too interact with these jerks
  • Because I said so.
  • No. All the social bullies will tell you all the bad stuff. Me, I smoke. I don't think I'll quit. If it kills me, well, I chose my poison. You might just be living on a toxic waste dump site anyway.
  • You will smell so much sexier, nothing nicer than a hot guy who smells of clean washing
  • You could live a longer, healthier life!!!
  • My mom started smoking when she was a teenager. She died of lung cancer when she was 32 years old. She left behind 4 kids.
  • Fresher breath.
  • You will feel better if you quit.
  • if it cause you a financial problem then quit
  • Yes..your chances of developing a major disease will decrease..
  • More than $2000 a year for a pack a day.
  • Nope, cigarettes are awesome. Keep up the good work.
  • if you dont, youll fill your lungs with dirty smoke, your skin will turn a faint yellowish color (not joking), no girl will want to kiss you cuz smoochin you will be like licking a nasty ash tray, your voice will get raspy and hoarse, anytime you laugh, your chuckling will turn into uncontrollable coughing & weezing, with every cig u smoke, you are polluting the air for the all the other creatures (including humans) in the world, non-smokers wont wanna be near you bc they dont want to risk being affected by second-hand smoke, if you have kids, youll mess up their life forever due to second-hand smoke, and eventually you will kill yourself at a very young age because of lung failure.....if you ask me, these are all pretty amazing reasons to quit. =) hope this has inspired you (and any other smokers on here) to quit smoking and become healthy
  • It could damage your lungs.
  • Continue to smoke sooner or later you'll be depending on a oxygen tube/mask for life because your lungs are damage so much it cannot by itself give you enough oxygen you need for your body.
  • The fact that if u quit u might actually live?
