  • Theres a brilliant virus checker by the name of PC Cillin. The best part is that they do something called "Housecall" for free! Close everything including popup blockers, and go to: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ Let it complete and restart. It should help quite a bit. Good luck:)

it was useless 20 years ago its now obsolete and useless.

      USELESS RUBBISH
    • Beat Covid, Avoid Republicans
I uses system mechanic. It finds viruses that AVG, Norton and Bitdefender didn't.
  • Getting the PC Cillin is good, but I preped myself before I even started websurfing. I have an anti-virus program called Bullguard. It's excellent. Get the free trial, you'll love it. It analyzes all incoming information, and scans it for viruses. You can also set up automatic updates, which you download to protect against newly created viruses. They also have news, greeting you when you cut on or reboot your computer. And did you know, that Bullguard found out that approximately 10 viruses a day are created. Currently, after 3 months of virus protection, my database can guard against nearly 400 thousand viruses. And do scan your computer regularly. It'll find an infected virus, disinfect it, and if that fails, it'll delete it or move it to quarentine to be submitted to the Bullguard team.
  • You need to figure out the name of the .exe file that the virus is masquerading as and terminate it, delete it if you can, then remove any changes it may have made to the registry. Disclaimer: If the above advice doesn't make any sense to you, call a professional to come do it for you! EDIT: Since someone felt the need to rate this answer down, I'll post the FULL instructions on how to manually remove a virus from another thread where I posted it before. If you hit control+alt+delete, you can check out a list of processes that are running on your computer. Some viruses are smart and will disable your antivirus software so you can't detect or remove them as easily. If you know the name of the executable file that the virus is hiding out in and it's currently running on your computer, you need to shut that bad boy down before you'll be able to commence removal. Select the process from the list and hit "end process". Open up your registry editor (go to the start menu > run > and type in "regedit" without the quotation marks). You'll see what looks like a Windows Explorer directory tree. Open up HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software >Microsoft>Windows>Cu rrentVersion>Run and delete any entries under that particular category that match the .exe filename of the process which the virus is attached to. DO NOT ERASE ANYTHING THAT DOESN'T CONTAIN THE .EXE NAME OF THE VIRUS FILE. This will stop the virus from starting again when Windows reboots. Once you've stopped the process and removed the registry entry you can either run a virus scan and let your AV software zap the buggies or you can simply delete the executable file associated with the virus.
  • I use avg,it is free, but somehow I got a trojan too,it only heals it over and over.
  • Personal, i think anti-virus are just cheap stuff. Manually is better, with help of the AVG, registry booster and of course the internet. 1) run:msconfig, and and it the startup, check any suspecious names, for trojans, or opened aplications you're never installed. Google it and if found to be malignant act fast. 2) Then check the location in the HD:C, and run a quick scan, if a virus is scanned, shift+control delete it. 3) Go back and check for the key, in the registry, remove it by editing its value to 0 and delete it. 4) Run rigistry booster and correct the unfragmented rigistry, everything should be okay. This is a proper and olf-facshioned way people do. Don't leave everything up to the anti-spyware and anti-viruses to do. You also need to take action, and not only click on- RunScan.

(can only run one virus program at a time on a PC but you may have as many spyware programs as you wish as long as you run only one at a time, and only one firewall) A GREAT FREE ONE IS ZONE ALARM FOUND AT www.snapfiles.com under the freeware section, personal firewalls. *** Note: It is wise to only run one virus program at a one time but run as many spyware as you like, only run them one at a time, other wise they will conflict with each other, it is good to have more than one as each will find some thing the other did not. Unistall any other program as they may conflict such as Norton,MacAfee etc. The only one this list that runs in safemode F8 is AVG anti-spyware, which does work great in safemode. Also wise thing to do is to run the virus & spyware program once without internet connection and then again with internet, as some times the virus will try to block program other wise when internet is running. This list has been drawn up by me and designed by me and is not copyed from anywhere as it has been suggested, please feel free to use as much as you like, and I hope it helps in some way. G_tech
  • is that the one that keeps dialing 1-900 numbers... hahaha. would that not suck? if a free anti-viri does not do it then re-format after backing up what is important.

In order to remove this particular malware infection manually you will need to go thorough different steps including removing it from control panel, changing registry entries, clearing bowers setting and bookmarks, terminating it from task manager etc. However, you can take the help of an effective third party Removal Tool in order to get rid of Trojan horse on your PC. https://www.esds.co.in/security/vtmscan
  • Is that the virus that can eat through a Trojan condom?
  • Any quality anti-virus program can do it.
  • any good AV will get rid of it
  • almost any virus scanner can do it
  • Most AV programs will get rid of them.
  • most anti virus programs can do it
  • Most any antivirus programs can do it.
  • Spyhunter works well. They have a free version if you can find it - but you have to know how to trace the infected path through your file system. It's not that hard to do. Just click on your main drive ("C" for most people) and follow the path listed in the scanned results, opening each file as it is listed between the slanted lines. The last one in the path is the infected file that needs to be deleted. If it doesn't delete or if it regenerates itself, you need to dump the folder it's located in ("preferences" is notorious for regenerating itself.)
  • format and clean install. Lots of time trojans hide in restore files where the scanners cant delete them.
  • The first thing is to stay out of sleazy bars. Penicillin is a wonderful thing - Alexander Fleming hit a home run with that one.
  • 1) You have trojans and you have viruses. A Virus replicates itself and a trojan is just one time. Antivirus applications can get rid of it. What are you dealing with?
