  • This is treason. I don't even understand the hatred against Obama. He hasn't even done anything bad yet. Everyone acts like we're gonna end up on the streets. Listen, the republicans put us in a National Debt of 34,000 dollars per citizen. If anything, Obama will probably try to get us out of that; infact he will sustain the economy longer than McCain would have. So, fuck Rush Limbaugh. I heard his show on Inaugural Day, and today too, and Glen Becks. Fuck em, fuck em all. They only say things like that for publicity.
  • I think, if he voted for John McCain, he should take some advice from that man. John McCain had a great succession speech. He said how now all of us should follow Obama and pretty much help him. Even the greatest rivals don't have that hatred for each other. FFS give the man a chance!
  • He doesn't want Obama to make this country even more"socalist" then it already is.
    • BagginsB
This is the answer, everyone! He doesn't want or didn't want this country to be wrestled any further towards socialism. Of course, Obama DID "succeed", unfortunately.
  • Its not right. Obama's his president. For the country's sake Limbaugh should hope he succeeds.
  • I think he, whoever he is, voted for the other guy.
  • Obama wasn't his pick for president, just sour grapes. The only thing he is doing is making himself look bad.
  • He's a *radio personality*! It's all part of the 'act', designed to get folks all bunged-up & talkin' about it. All about more bucks! ;-)
  • I think he means it..I think he is sayng what many others of his "ilk" hope for as well, only they aren't as outrageous and dramatic as he is. He is the typical "cut your nose to spite your face" kinda guy. Obama fails, he fails too..in a way he is exactly like a suicide bomber..so anxious to take the other guy out he is willing to give up his life to do so. I don't think that is very smart, do you? Happy Thursday, kdp! :) ((hugs))
  • Rush Limbaugh is an example of extreme. I admit that sometimes I agree with him. I do not agree with him on the above statement and think he is being an ass. I can respect someone who doesn't waver from their beliefs/convictions but hoping someone will fail just because they are a democrat shows little regard for one's own country.
  • I think it should be taken in context so I'll provide that. RUSH: I got a request here from a major American print publication. "Dear Rush: For the Obama [Immaculate] Inauguration we are asking a handful of very prominent politicians, statesmen, scholars, businessmen, commentators, and economists to write 400 words on their hope for the Obama presidency. We would love to include you. If you could send us 400 words on your hope for the Obama presidency, we need it by Monday night, that would be ideal." Now, we're caught in this trap again. The premise is, what is your "hope." My hope, and please understand me when I say this. I disagree fervently with the people on our side of the aisle who have caved and who say, "Well, I hope he succeeds. We've got to give him a chance." Why? They didn't give Bush a chance in 2000. Before he was inaugurated the search-and-destroy mission had begun. I'm not talking about search-and-destroy, but I've been listening to Barack Obama for a year-and-a-half. I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don't want them to succeed. If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. And I would be encouraging Republicans to lay down and support him. Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails." (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here's the point. Everybody thinks it's outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, "Oh, you can't do that." Why not? Why is it any different, what's new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what's gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don't care what the Drive-By story is. I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: "Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails." Somebody's gotta say it. Were the liberals out there hoping Bush succeeded or were they out there trying to destroy him before he was even inaugurated? Why do we have to play the game by their rules? Why do we have to accept the premise here that because of the historical nature of his presidency, that we want him to succeed? This is affirmative action, if we do that. We want to promote failure, we want to promote incompetence, we want to stand by and not object to what he's doing simply because of the color of his skin? Sorry. I got past the historical nature of this months ago. He is the president of the United States, he's my president, he's a human being, and his ideas and policies are what count for me, not his skin color, not his past, not whatever ties he doesn't have to being down with the struggle, all of that's irrelevant to me. We're talking about my country, the United States of America, my nieces, my nephews, your kids, your grandkids. Why in the world do we want to saddle them with more liberalism and socialism? Why would I want to do that? So I can answer it, four words, "I hope he fails." And that would be the most outrageous thing anybody in this climate could say. Shows you just how far gone we are. Well, I know, I know. I am the last man standing. I'm happy to be the last man standing. I'm honored to be the last man standing. Yeah, I'm the true maverick. I can do more than four words. I could say I hope he fails and I could do a brief explanation of why. You know, I want to win. If my party doesn't, I do. If my party has sacrificed the whole concept of victory, sorry, I'm now the Republican in name only, and they are the sellouts. I'm serious about this. Why in the world, it's what Ann Coulter was talking about, the tyranny of the majority, all these victims here, we gotta make sure the victims are finally assuaged. Well, the dirty little secret is this isn't going to assuage anybody's victim status, and the race industry isn't going to go away, and the fact that America's original sin of slavery is going to be absolved, it's not going to happen. Just isn't, folks. It's too big a business for the left to keep all those things alive that divide the people of this country into groups that are against each other. Yes, I'm fired up about this. Reasons number 249 and 50 why I'm not a Republican. Republican Senator Chuck Hagel has been chosen to introduce Vice-President-elect Biden at a bipartisan dinner in Washington on the eve of the immaculation. Biden was one of Hagel's closest friends in the Senate. "Bipartisan dinners also held that night honoring McCain and Colin Powell. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina will introduce McCain at a dinner." So all these Republicans are being honored on the night before Obama is immaculately inaugurated, as though they're part of the Obama administration. Our presidential candidate is being honored. I can understand liberals honoring their losers, but I just -- (tearing up story) Now, what do I think? I think he has a good point. He's no different and no more evil than those people who booed President Bush as he left office or those who protested him at his inauguration. He's just on the other side of the political spectrum.
  • Unsurprisingly, it sounds like Rush is too shortsighted, petty, hateful, and spiteful to realize that if Obama fails, that spells some seriously bad news for America. Then Rush can come back and tell everyone "I told you so." If there's one thing I hope Obama does in his first term, it is to reestablish the Fairness Doctrine so blowhards like Limbaugh will at least have a real challenge.
  • I think Rush Limbaugh is an asshole. I've always thought Rush Limbaugh was an asshole. I doubt there is anything he could do, short of a Pope verified miracle, that would convince me that he wasn't an asshole. His recent statements have just affirmed my opinion.
  • Too bad Rush Limbaugh didn't take enough Oxycodin/Vicodin
  • Nothing. Rush Limbaugh is an asshole. His politics align with mine more often than not, but his idiosyncratic rants never agree with me. In this situation, I am only assuming that Rush can afford for the President to fail. (mattresses full of cash?)
  • I'm with Limbaugh. Oh and the full quote was: I Hope Obama Fails." Somebody's gotta say it. Well, I know, I know. I am the last man standing.
  • What? Who cares what that druggie says? Sore loser -- and a perverted POV, too.
  • Anyone wanting ANY U.S. president to fail is wholly un-American. He has explained his thoughts on President Obama ad nauseum. We get it. But all out wanting him to fail is a slap in the face of all Americans, not just the ones who support him.
  • The man likes to be controversial just for controversial sake, how else will he continue to get the amount of crazy money they pay him for making absurd comments? Why in the world would you want the leader of your country to fail? Who will benefit? Regardless of your political affiliation you should challenge those in power, but to wish for failure is ludicrous
  • What a moronic thing for someone to say, no matter what context you put it in. I voted for Obama, but if McCain had won the election I wouldn't in a million years even consider wanting him or anyone leading our country to fail. It's childish. Wanting our economy and system to fail and put millions of people in distress so he can come back around and say "Ha! I told you so!" What a selfish prick excuse for a human being he is.
  • I suggest you find out the facts before you jump to conclusions. But, let's face it, the entire Democratic Party did whatever they could to make President Bush fail. As far as MORE government spending, and INCREASED government spending, I hope that part of Obama's agenda does fail. But, I fear we will all be facing huge tax increases. Now that the Democratic Party controls the Congress, Senate, and White House......the proof will be in the pudding of what they are all about.
  • i hope rush gets raped to death by satan
  • Honestly, I don't care what Rush Limbaugh says or doesn't say. I don't think about him much at all, mostly because he doesn't think at all.
  • Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I choose to not listen to Mr. Limbaugh because I think he is a wind-bag.
  • dispicable. he is now doing what he complained about liberals doing for the past 8 years, and even trumping it. I am conservative and as such agree with several of his stands... but this goes way too far. I expect that obama is nothing but a pile of charisma like clinton but even more charismatic and better looking. honestly if I were to make a movie he'd make an awesome devil based on that. however I desperately hope I am wrong and that he will work to undo the damage done over the past several decades by BOTH parties. he already made me smile by putting raises on hold. if he can restore the dignity of a living wage to the working class he will earn my vote next time around.
  • Rush Limbaugh would do himself and the rest of the world a great service by keeping his mouth shut. Every time he opens it for anything other than to pop some pills, he puts his foot in it
  • It's Rush he goes to far sometimes I don't hope Obama Fails but I am almost sure he will. Economics is real not a myth.
  • Kind of selfish of him -- he would rather be right than the country be well off.
  • its totally unAmerican why would he want his country to fail? if Obama fails we all fail.
  • conservatism is hilarious right now. rush is good entertainment. also you are taking his words out of context. he said something along the lines of "IF Obama tries to create nationalized healthcare I would hope he fails, because that would ruin our country."
  • Anyone who actually "hopes" for someone else to fail is an evil & obviously unhappy person! Rush Limbaugh is an idiot!
  • This does not even sound like an opinion just an old bitter windbags stupidity. He is wishing hardship on everyone by wishing failure.
  • Taken into context the statement isn't that bad. He said that he wants the proposed policies of Obama to fail to be implemented, because he believes them to be the wrong direction to take us out of this recession. He also said "He is my President" and admission that the liberals never made concerning President Bush. All we had for 8 years is "F the President" and "He's not my President" and blah blah blah whining and crying. I don't want President Obama to do things that I feel will ruin the economy and our chances of securing true victories in Iraq and Afghanistan, or to reduce our ablility to fight terrorism where ever it may be. The simple truth is that those are things that he wants to do, and I wish for him to fail in those regards, but I wish him overall success because his success is tied to ours as a nation.
  • His statement really hurt me. I mean damn the man just got into office and already someone is trying to doom him. The way he said it was just so disrespectful and classless that it literally turned my stomach. Because of his actions, I don't like him and I hope and pray that Obama exceeds expectations. He is surely capable. Maybe Limbaugh knows that, anyway, and that may be why he is saying these nasty things.
  • I'm a conservative Republican but I thought that was beyond The Pale. President Obama is now our country's leader and if he fails we all fail
  • I think Senator Franken's book title says it all: "Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat Idiot, And Other Observations."
  • I think there's probably a lot which preceded those four words that we'd have to know before making an informed decision, i.e., I'm certain he just didn't come out and say he hopes Obama fails.
  • This is most of his statement. He has reasons and is a man of conviction. He's putting down wimpy Republicans with his statement as well. So I believe when taken in context, it's not all that outlandish yo... I got a request here from a major American print publication. "Dear Rush: For the Obama [Immaculate] Inauguration we are asking a handful of very prominent politicians, statesmen, scholars, businessmen, commentators, and economists to write 400 words on their hope for the Obama presidency. • Having seen Limbaugh's comments I think he was quite right to show his opposition to President Obamas possible slide toward collectivism and Limbaughs hope that that ideology does not succeed. Personally, I think your question is misleading. Here's the quote. LIMBAUGH: If he does not eliminate the Bush tax cuts, I would call that success. So yes, I would hope he would succeed if he acts like Reagan, but if he's going to do FDR, if he's going to do the new, new deal all over which we will call here the raw deal, why would I want him to succeed? Look, he's my president. The fact that he is historic is irrelevant to me now. It matters not at all. I — if he is going to implement a far left — look it. I think it's already decided. $2 trillion in stimulus? The growth of government. I think the intent here is to create as many dependant Americans as possible looking to government for their hope and salvation. If he gets nationalized health care, I mean, it's over, Sean. We're never going to roll that back. That's the end of America as we have known it because that's then going to set the stage for everything being government owned, operated, or provided. Why would I want that to succeed? I don't believe in that. I know that's not how this country is going to be great in the future, it's not what made this country great. So I shamelessly say, no, I want him to fail, if his agenda is a far- left collectivism, some people say socialism, as a conservative heartfelt, deeply, why would I want socialism to succeed?
  • he is an idiot! obviously he can afford for obama to fail. there are millions of us that cant.
  • ROCK ON RUSH!!!
  • What an idiot. He doesn't understand that if Obama goes down, the country goes down, including him. To make his gross comment even more disgusting, he can't graciously accept that McCain lost and follow McCain's example of saying that he wishes Obama the best of luck although they may not agree on everything. Limbaugh is being a whiny little bitch, as usual.
  • http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_012209/content/01125108.guest.html Ignorance is obviously Bliss
  • All of you people need to stop watching MSNBC and other mainstream media. They took what Rush said totally out of context. He said he hopes that Obama's policies to try and make the United States a socialistic country fail. He said he hopes he succeeds as a president. You guys should educate yourselves a little more before you believe everything Katie Couric says. I am not calling anybody stupid, I'm just saying you should get the whole story before you come to a conclusion.
  • Rush is THE MAN and he should be our president!! I hope obama fails too! the liberal agenda is what is wrong with this country now and its only going to get worse example not enough room in prision because it is cruel to kill people who kill other people. So therefor us law obiding tax paying citizens have to support them and pay there way till they die in prison. give me a brake kill the killers and nudder the rapists. thats just one example I can go on all day!
  • I am curious to know if any of you who are bashing Rush even heard what he said in its entirety or are you just going on the sound bite that the mainstream media is playing? What Rush said is that he hopes Obama’s POLICIES fail and quiet frankly, if what he has done in his first two weeks in office are any indication of what is coming, I agree. So far, Obama has signed legislation of promote abortion, release known terrorist, strengthen the labor unions, and is trying his best to get his pork filled “stimulus” package passed. Additionally, he apparently wants government controlled banks, mortgages and healthcare. Have you EVER known the government to successfully and profitably run any business? Do you really want them in charge of your healthcare? The only money the government has is money that they take from YOU. Do you really want them to expand?
  • The answers to this question are truly amazing.People are so quick to accuse someone of being a racist and so on,without actually knowing what he said and in what context. It says ALOT about the people who have jumped to these conclusions.
  • I think for the good of humanity he needs to have his tongue removed!
  • Just another Quisling.
  • I agree with him, America is better than a welfare state.
  • I think as little as possible about it. Paying attention to Rush is mind numbing torture. I just won't do it.
  • I heartily agree with Limbaugh. If Obamas policies are going to damage this country and erode the Constitution, and I believe that they will, then I also say I hope his administration fails miserably. Please note before you go off into left field that this statement is qualified and so was Limbaughs. "If Obamas policies are going to damage this country..." If he can make it stronger then I support him. Unfortunately judging from some of the answers I'm reading, they're being based on what someone else said that Limbaugh said - Go to Arisztid in a COAT of Roamani Awareness' answer, play the interview and then comment. If you hear it in context you'll agree with the jist of Limbaughs statement. The statement in question is about 3 seconds out of an 8 minute interview.
  • I find it rediculous, not because i disagree with him (which i do) but because he is being a huge hypocrite by saying that he wishes the president to fail, seeing as he stated during the bush administration he said that all the people that disagree with bush hate america. Basically, stick to what you say and quit this bullshit hate mongering.
  • I think it's a soundbite taken out of context. Even if I may not agree with his take on this, I certainly see his reasoning. He feels liberalism is dangerous and he hopes Obama's liberal agenda fails to take hold. He's being honest and he has some very good points to make.
  • Remember the Limbaugh parady offf the simpson? The dude is quite frankly a RW liunetict, just like Fox News.
  • I completley agree with him! I too hope Obama fails!
  • LOL, freedom of speech? who cares what he says? I love rush and if they take him off the air it goes against what america is all about.
  • Obama is a socialist and he will drive this economy into a far worst state than it is right now. IF you listened to him or watched the interview he gave you would understand what he meant. He wishes the opposite of what Obama will do to the economy and this country. NO socialism and no more bail outs. I work hard for my money and I refuse to keep paying for these ridiculous bail out programs which will do nothing for our country but drive us further into debt. DO you understand that? If you did, you wouldn't be so happy with Obama's radical policies. Rush wants Obama to stop his extreme socialist objective by Obama doing so, he would have failed himself. Yes, I want Obama to fail.
  • Dammit.. I just wrote several paragraphs and lost the whole thing.. Oh well. I'll do it all again. What Lush Limpbutt, aka Rush Limbaugh is doing and has been doing for some time now it tantamount to treason or in the very least yelling fire in a crowded theater, that theater namely the United States of America. There may very well be legal precedent to have him and his ilk such as Hannity, Coulter, O'Reilly and others like them prosecuted under hate crimes law and very likely also treason against the United States of America for trying to incite not only violence against innocent civilians, but civil war and out right murder..That I hate to inform anyone who thinks otherwise is NOT protected speech under the constitution and any Liberal who dared say the same things would have their heads called for by the extremist right in this country or even the centerist right for that matter. William Cormier in www.opednews.com wrote an eye opening article, http://www.opednews.com/articles/Nuremberg-Trials-Provide-L-by-William-Cormier-090225-228.html "During the Nuremberg Trials after World War II when Julius Streicher was convicted and subsequently hung for “Jew Baiting” we were provided with the legal precedent for prosecuting those that incite others to violence. I have been contemplating this essay for quite some time, but today I read a revealing article on Op-Ed News that provides direct proof that purveyors of hate can and are directly responsible for the deaths of innocent Americans! Those who agitate and constantly spew their hate and prejudice in print and on America’s airwaves constantly hide behind “Freedom of Speech.” However, it is already an established rule of law that if you yell “fire” in a crowded theater, Free Speech can and will not protect those who abuse this right which results in the harm of innocent civilians." From wikipedia and also in the same article, "Trial and execution Julius Streicher was not a member of the military and did not take part in planning the Holocaust, or the invasion of other nations. Yet his pivotal role in inciting the extermination of Jews was significant enough, in the prosecutors’ judgment, to include him in the indictment of Major War Criminals before the International Military Tribunal – which sat, ironically, in Nuremberg, where Streicher had once been an unchallenged authority. During the trial, Gustave Gilbert, an American Army psychologist, was allowed to examine the Nazi leaders who were tried at Nuremberg for war crimes. Among other tests, a German version of the Wechsler-Bellevue IQ test was administered. Julius Streicher scored 106, the lowest among the Nazi leaders tested. During his trial, Streicher displayed for the last time the flair for courtroom theatrics that had made him famous in the 1920s. He answered questions from his own defense attorney with diatribes against Jews, the Allies, and the court itself, and was frequently silenced by the court officers. Streicher was largely shunned by all of the other Nuremberg defendants, who thought him a vulgar, despicable man (Göering’s hostility toward him was well-established). He also peppered his testimony with references to passages of Jewish texts he had so often carefully selected and inserted (invariably out of context) into the pages of Der Stürmer. Streicher was found guilty of crimes against humanity at the Nuremberg War Crimes Trial and sentenced to death on October 1, 1946.[13] The judgment against him read, in part: “ “…For his 25 years of speaking, writing, and preaching hatred of the Jews, Streicher was widely known as ‘Jew-Baiter Number One.’ In his speeches and articles, week after week, month after month, he infected the German mind with the virus of anti-Semitism, and incited the German people to active persecution… Streicher’s incitement to murder and extermination at the time when Jews in the East were being killed under the most horrible conditions clearly constitutes persecution on political and racial grounds in connection with war crimes, as defined by the Charter, and constitutes a crime against humanity.” "Below is an excerpt from an excellent article authored by Rady Ananda. Please note the similarities, and in this instance, we can directly correlate the murder of innocent Americans based on the publication authored by Bernie Goldberg: O’Reilly’s Hate Factor: ‘Venom Boys’ Blamed for Shooting Spree The right wing hate machine fails to recognize its own hypocrisy. Even worse, its hate speech has been directly linked to a mass shooting. Bernie Goldberg’s list of fans includes Jim David Adkisson, the nutjob who last year shot up a liberal church during a children’s musical. The killing was “symbolic” because he really wants to kill everyone mentioned in Goldberg’s Screwing up America book. I can’t imagine writing something that would inspire murder, but the right wing hatemongers do it all the time. Knoxville News Sentinel published the full manifesto, excerpted below: “Know this if nothing else: This was a hate crime. I hate the damn left-wing liberals…. This was a symbolic killing. Who I wanted to kill was every Democrat in the Senate & House, the 100 people in Bernard Goldberg’s book.”" I happen to agree fully with William Cormier and his views and further believe Limbaugh and his ilk who continually traffic in fear and hate deserve nothing less than to be hanged for treason against the United States of America, but they will continue to hide behind the flag of Free Speech and claim to cling to the Constitution of the United States of America even though they clearly have no real reverence for it and chose to pervert its very meanings for their own profit, hate and obvious lust for unfettered power in the name of a religion they certainly hold no reverence nor love for.
  • well, to put this back into context, i myself do support obama, but what rush was trying to say, is that he hopes obama fails so democrats will fail, it just came out wrong, but he is a dick
  • I would think the same of Rush as I would a Jew that Hoped Hitler failed. While the issue may be a political issue, the fact of the matter is: it is the individual implementing it.
  • I agree with him.
  • I think its arrogant and selfish. By hoping Obama fails he automatically puts all Americans in peril. If Obama or any President fails, so do the people. They end up suffering for it like when Bush was President. What a rotten thing to say especially about a fellow American.
  • The new mouth piece for the republican party damn they go from bad to worse. Had to laugh when Steele apologized to Rush, damn http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/19517.html
  • If you were paying attention, Rush said that he hopes that Obama fails in his attempt to turn America into a socialist Country like the ones in Europe. Not that he fails in everything as a President. If that is what Obama has in mind, then he hopes he fails and I agree with him whole heatedly. Socialism has no place in the United States. Socialism only serves to take the ambition away from the hard workers that have to pay the taxes. and it makes the people that are getting all the freebies more lazy then they were in the first place. People come to America to get away from socialism.
  • I have to say that I agree with him and it is not Anti-American to do so. In fact, Obama's policies are anti-American in themselves so wanting him to fail is patriotic. --I don't want Obama to succeed in socializing our economy because that would be the worst for the country. --I don't want him to succeed in giving tax money to abortion clinics because abortion is morally reprehensible. --I don't want him to succeed in kissing the butts of the UN because the UN exists for the sole purpose of tearing down our sovereignty and freedoms. Lest you think me just another right wing extremist though, --I wanted Bush to fail in rebuilding Iraq because it is a waste of government assets to rebuild a nation that is just going to destroy itself again. --I wanted Bush to fail with his gross spending policies and deficit budget (almost as bad as Obama's) because the government should live within its means and stop taxing my grandkids when they aren't even born yet. --I wanted Bush to fail with the first $750 billion bailout because it is moral cowardice on his part not to let the economy tank on his watch "so he doesn't get blamed." If life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are really the three things that most define what America is all about then I have no problem wanting Obama or Bush to fail because their policies oppose all three.
  • I agree with Rush, it's not Obama that he desires to fail - it is his policies and this insane stimulus plan. To each their own opinion, as humans we're all entitled to have an opinion. Anyone who thinks otherwise is supportive of dictatorship and control of what people should be allowed and not allowed to think.
  • Rush is being called "the leading spokesman for the conservatives".That gives conservatives a bad name!He is famous for spouting exterme poo. That is not conservative. It is Rushs JOB! But what about constructive critisim? He does not know how.He does not offer helpfull ideas,he just fuels peoples frustrations and anger.Almost enciting riot mentality. The pres.has not even had a chance yet,but he has already starting fulfilling some campaign promises,to the people. He is GOOD!PLUS,how much did Limbaugh pay CNN for his 90uninterupted minutes lest weekend?
  • It's sad that there is this level of partisanship in US politics. Personally I think it is alright to hate Obama, but if one hopes that one's president fails, then one is hoping for one's country to fail also, which I am sure you will all agree is definitely not the mindset of a true patriot.
  • I think if that is all you got out of his quote you neglected to listen to the whole broadcast and completely missed the point.
  • Let's see, 'what do I think of Rush Limbaugh'.... I'm sorry; what was the question?
  • Rush is right, because if Obama succeeds, he will hurt people and destroy America.
  • I better question would be to ask, "what is Obama supposed to succeed at?
  • I think that it's his opinion.
  • Just another of Limbaugh's self-serving pot stirrings. Masquerading as a political pundit, this guy does what ever it takes to make a splash.... repeatedly cannonballing into the pool... that's his bread and butter.
  • He wasn't hoping that President Obama would personally fail. He was hoping that the whole concept of facilitating America to becoming a socialist country would not succeed because that would not be in the best and long term interest of this country.
  • I couldn't give a shit less what that whiner says anymore. Or Neal Boortz! Oh, the government is going to tax the rich! Boo fucking hoo.
  • I listen to Rush almost everyday and I heard the full statement that Rush made. Apparently some of you did'nt. Rush doe'nt want Obamas socialist policies to succeed because socialism never works. Socialism, Marcism, Communism, Stalinism, Dictators, none of these government systems work as well as a free Democracy such as ours. Did you all notice that everybody wants to come to America because of the opportunities here. If Obamas policies are put into play we will lose our abilities to pursue any monetary desires that we may have. Some say, what about the homeless? Well they have the same chances as all of us. Most are homeless because they want to be.
  • Rush Limbaugh should be killed along with Ann (man) Coulter!
  • I don't think anything of Lush Limballs.. He isn't worth my time nor electrical currents required for a brain to function. He's a dope fiend who said all drug addicts ought to be locked away for good. Why wasn't he locked up for good then? I know why. His party was in power when he got caught so they just let him slide. He should have been locked up like everyone else is when they get caught smuggling drugs illegally. I guess money walks, bullshit talks on talk radio.
  • Nothing as I hope obama fails also and I do not listen to Rush.
  • He is kicking people who are down, and that is a sure sign of a coward. Get him away from his microphone, ask him to walk down any large city street and then to "spout off" and see if has the guts to do it. He is a bully and a coward.
  • I think he has some nerve. The whole time I was rooting for George Bush to fail, I was doing it for the good of my party and that makes it okay. If Bush had had a successful 2nd term, we democrats could have never pulled the wool over the eyes of the majority so soon. Now, if Obama has any success at all, we can manipulate enough people sufficiently to stay in power for many years to come -- maybe forever. Rush Limbaugh only thinks of the country. He's an idiot.
  • he is an idiot, even though i wanted mccain doesnt mean i wan obama to fail, i hope he does well
  • i don't hope obama fails i know he's gonna fail
  • Well for starters, Obama is failing. I don't think that he needs Rush Limgaugh's blessings. Obama, already in just a few months, has spent more money then all of the Presidents since America began. We may never recover from all of this debt. Obama is weak and is a disaster. He is ruining the greatest country in the world. I agree with Rush, if he continues the way he's going, I hope Obama fails too.
  • I'll tell you what I think of Rush Limbaugh and anyone who believes what he says: they should be castrated, so they can't reproduce.
  • "Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital, creates an unequal society, and does not provide equal opportunities for everyone in society." --Wiki Those of you who fear socialism, please do the following: --Send me any Social Security money you receive, and that of your parents and grandparents. --Pay your share of federal tax as if it was not a part of a progressive tax system. --Never accept unemployment compensation; or, send that to me too. --Return any books you've checked out to the library, and never go there again. --Don't go to the park, either. Any park. --If your bank fails and you lose your life's savings, don't whine to me. --Put out your own fires. Arrest your own criminals. Educate your own kids. Government just messes everything up. --By the way, if you're a veteran, don't expect any of that commie special assistance for school, housing or medical stuff. This is America!
  • As for the richest 1% of Americans: they now own 34.3 percent of the nation's private wealth, more than the combined wealth of the bottom 90 percent. The top one percent also owns 36.9 percent of all corporate stock. According to www.ntu.org, they paid 39.89% of the taxes in this nation in 2006. Doesn't seem that unfair to me.
  • As for the richest 1% of Americans: they own 35% of all wealth, and according to www.ntu.org, paid 39% of all taxes in 2006. Doesn't seem that unfair to me.
  • Stupid. Even if you don't agree with him - he is the President. His failure means failure for OUR COUNTRY. Why would someone wish failure upon the leader of their own country? How is that good? I hated Bush - but never wished failure upon him. I want the president to make things better - not worse.
  • He's a republican. Obama is a democrat. It's part of the job description to bash members of the opposite camp. Anything that can make a member of the opposing camp look bad is good. If America suffers, that's acceptable collateral damage, and a step towards getting the right people back in power. Of course, Limbaugh is a celebrity who makes his living making outrageous statements which sometimes could be confu7sed with the truth
  • I think it's not that different from the Bush-Haters attitude about THEIR enemy.
  • You no longer need to hope, he's already failed ;)
  • he's just predicting what will happen, and what is already happening :). And this is coming from someone who loves this country, who wants to join the military and fight for this country, who wishes nothing but the best for this country... I was raised this way, sorry.
  • It's just wishful thinking on his part and an effort to keep the GOP morale up. It won't work though, because they are as dead as a door nail.
  • Hell I hope his agenda fails too!
  • He's the mouth of the Republican party.
  • I believe that Rush Limbaugh means that he hopes, like many other Americans (but don't have the platform Limbaugh has or don't express their feelings) that Obama's POLICIES fail. With that said, one doesn't have to "hope" that because if one knows anything about economics, one knows that his model he is basing his economic policies on is not a sound one. It is not taught in any reputable business school and, in fact, if we as individuals were to use this same model, we could never spend ourselves to prosperity. It is foolish. Like many Americans, Limbaugh feels a more conservative policy of spending less money (at a time when the country is looking at such high deficits) giving tax cuts to small businesses (which are the engine of our economy and always have been and which are in dire straits at this time) and taking other measures that are not being done would provide immediate relief at a time when we need jobs which would come from the private sector. Limbaugh has no person problem with Obama and has stated this. In fact, he has complimented Obama on many things. But, the mainstream media never publicizes these statements; only the things they can distort and use to try to get their ratings up. Obama is the president. No one wants HIM to fail but everyone wants our country to succeed. I believe we all are Americans, no matter what our political persuasion is. I think Obama has done a lot of polarizing which is extremely disappointing to me.
  • rush is a fool. he's also a draft dodger, racist, misogynist, liar and is rumored to be a closet homosexual.
