Bambi But I fell in love with Humphrey Bogart when I was 3 because I saw a film in which his plane crashed and he died on his child's birthday..at least, that is what I remember. I was so upset..my mom said it wasn't real and that he was really alive and behind the screen..of course I insisted on going up there to see for myself..she placated me by telling me that he would be mobbed by people and probably wouldn't have time for us. I bought it! My son grew up with a life-size poster of Humphrey Bogart scotch-taped to our front door(on the inside of course). :)

Animal Farm. When they took Boxer away to the glue factory I wept as if my heart was broken...and it was. I still remember it vividly. The whole idea that this reflected Orwell's vision of the corruption of the Communist movement was beyond me. I was only 4 or 5. What hurt me was brave Boxer who worked so very hard and instead of getting to retire now that he was old, getting betrayed with death. I'm choking up now thinking about it.
