  • Come on! The only way your friends know your email address is because you gave it to them, right? So, how would these people, in a foreign country, know you or your email address, but not be able to address you by name? Notice all the typos too? It's nothing but a BS scam, waiting for yet another sucker thinking they've gotten lucky and won something - anything . . . Delete those emails when you don't know or recognize who it's from, especially when the message line is in ALL CAPS! You don't want to risk getting a virus on your computer by clicking something by accident in one of these scam emails! Identity theft is real. This is not TV or the movies, where people win millions of dollars for nothing, and go on to live happily ever after. Of course, we all dream, and that's what they are counting on. Don't be a sucker! IF you've won something of value, they will know your name, address and phone number to contact you, IF you signed up for a contest or sweepstake. You will be contacted via official USPS certified mail, a phone call, or the Prize Patrol will be knocking on your door.
  • Delete it!
  • It is a scam yes, and i bet they asked for money or your bank account details as well.
  • It's a scam. Stories range from lotteries to pleas for help transferring large sums of money overseas, or even "Hello, I'm a very wealthy person and I just need your help in... blah blah blah..." There is always someone who let's their greed get the better of them and they end up actually sending money to these morons. Please don't be one of them! If you want help dealing with these parasites in a more "creative" way, check out this website! These guys are experts in the art of scamming the scammers, and some of their stories are hilarious. You can become a member (like me) and get help extracting your revenge on these cretins! http://forum.419eater.com/forum/
