Almost all of the worlds' percussion instruments start out in a natural form. Drums and soundboards are usually made from wood or gourds, even some large nuts. Animal hides are stretched for some or another piece of wood is used to beat against the wood/drum

Hey Smooz.... As suggested already, Gourds. Also Bamboo. The trick is to cut them different sizes and hollow them out. With gourds you would want to drill a hole in them for the sound to escape. As for the stick and mallets, you want those solid, a piece of hardwood. You could wrap foliage around the end for a different, more muted sound...

other than wood & animal hides (goat, iguana etc.), which are commonplace in drums/percussion ~ coconuts (for maracas) seed pods (for shakers) bamboo reeds (for rain sticks) abalone (use their seashells for shakers) gourds pumpkin bongos hollowed out pumpkins with cut off tops filled with water (for slapping)

Men Get a row of men of varying heights - line them up in height order, and kick them in the shins - the resulting squeals could make for an interesting tune

I like the drums made out of hollowed out wood with goat leather stretched over them that the native Mizo tribesmen make themselves and play to the beat of bamboos among which tribal girls dance. Makes for a great experience. Sorry. But the beat of the bamboos and the girls dancing to the rhythm in between the beating bamboos to the beat of the drums are indescribable.
