offensive no. a bit retarded, yes.
-
No, I wouldn't consider that offensive because, if I understand it right, you would be saying that about yourself not about someone else. I think it is okay to tell stuff on yourself, but not other people, unless you know them REALLY well and they will take the joke. My husband, at checkouts, when they ask him if he wants a bag for whatever it is he has bought often says 'no I bought one with me' meaning me...some checkout operators don't know how to take it, I just laugh and tell him to find another one that is getting old.
-
Not at all! I would actually think it was funny as hell! and then if I was the girl I would probably make some blue comment like, "I'll have to call the manager to O.K. that as well!"
-
Some check clerks find any non-business, personal remarks to be offensive. Remember, they deal with the dregs of society every day.
-
No,I would'nt be offended. It just sounds like that person needed a little extra attention, otherwise, it sounds playful to me.
-
No I'd find it funny not offensive
-
strangely funny but wonder why you thought it appropriate!
-
No its a joke if you say it. Now if she said it and was referring to "YOU" Now thats offensive.
-
Dorky yes, Offensive no.
-
I don't think it's offensive. Not to mention that at the same time it's kinda putting yourself down ("I don't look as good as I use to"). Now if you continued to talk about all the times you got things for free and how you just had to stand thee and look pretty, someone may think you're a bit full of yourself.
-
Hello Shady.. how are you? no i wouldnt find this offensive at all, i'd probably burst out laughing!
-
I don't consider it offensive, but it is inappropriate, possibly...since this person doesn't know you, she doesn't know if you are a crazy person, a professional, serious, joking, jabbing, etc. And when we try to joke like this with strangers, it may come across as a little too friendly, sarcastic depending on their state of mind. People used to joke with me when I was a cashier (many years ago) and I found it (mostly) aggravating, because I was too immature to appreciate that they were just trying to make my day a little better. I didn't want to laugh...I wanted to finish my shift and go out and drink beer.......sigh. If your intentions are friendly and sincere, don't worrry about it too much, but you might get some very cold reactions..... coffee?
-
No. I would think it was funny. People appreciate humor. There are too many mean people with callousness to get offended by. Why make the day worse by being offended by people who are trying to brighten your day with humor, even if you thought it was a groaner?
-
bad joke. distasteful, unprofessional (if checking out can be considered a profession) but not bad enough to be offensive
-
I would probably laugh, why be offended! People really need to learn to lighten the hell up!
-
it's kind of cheesy.
-
Thats funny.I dont see how that would be offensive.
-
No, unless the checker is a Fucktard.
-
Um ... noooo. Why would you consider that "offensive?" It's just the customer making a lil joke at her own expense.
-
No i'd probably laugh at that kind of remark...sounds like something i would say...not to a stranger tho
-
I'd think it's funny.
-
Of course not! (but I wouldn't say it too often around here!) ;-)
-
i think its funny, you are really insulting yourself if anyone ;0)
