I don't know, but I would be thinking that he/she would probably be a great asset to my company.
-
I do and wouldn't.
-
Yes, I would, especially, if the person worked for and didn't own the rival company. The owner of a rival company might still be bitter if he or she is looking for a job now because that would have meant that they had to close. But if they just worked there, once their employment with that company was terminated, there would be no reason for that hostility to exist. Sure, it may be a bit odd at first, but in terms of their potential value to the company, there probably wouldn't be too many people more qualified than someone who worked at the rival company. Plus, they may be able to bring in some insights that could help my company flourish.

It is better to keep a past rival than an ignorant about my business.

I have owned several businesses and have hired honest competitors and their old employees to work for me. They were a valuable asset. As far as bitter rivals go the answer is no I wouldn't offer them a job because they will rob you blind, create trouble, and sabotage your business in any way they can.
-
If they were honorable and talented and had something to contribute to my company, I would certainly consider them against other applicants.
-
Sure, I would hire Hillary. You keep your friends near but your enemies closer.
-
If the person was a bitter rival, that might mean that they were doing something right. Yes, I would hire them just as long as they knew who was the boss.
-
A bitter rival no. The bitterness never becomes 'a thing of the past' and if I employ such a person I will forever be watching my back.
-
It is dangerous to employ a rival like that because he can sabotage your business and can malign you totally.Just think can US give a job to Osama? No way!The reason why they are there is to give you a good opposition in life so you should let them be and not try goody goody tactics.
-
In a word, NO.
-
No. I won't. There's no guarantee that he would be loyal to me. He may even let our my company's details to other competetitors.
-
If they weren't going to be in a postion to take advantage of my customer lists or something of that nature, yes I would. If they were capable of giving me a run for my money as a competitor they are probably skilled workers.
-
Probably not, I wouldn't feel like I would ever be able to completely trust them and would probably wonder whay they were up to.
-
a rival? yes... just to piss him off :) LOL a "bitter" rival? Why would I do that?
-
If she was hot I might throw her a bone and let her be my "assistant".
-
Maybe, then I'd fire their ass after they set their office up and all that. It's be funny (For me at least).
