Only dogs are capable of expressing emotions so perfectly.

No, my cat is not a hugging pet or a lap cat. Sometimes she licks my arm or something after ive been gone for a day or so ^^

Not at all, my cat is extremley loving and always gives me and my boyfriend kisses and head butts, he loves to be held like a baby and clings to me when i have to put him down, he paws my face, my last cat was not like this at all, they are all different.

Canaries hate to be touched, but they don't mind when I do something in their cage - they're not afraid whatsoever. My cat only stands touching when she's in the mood. But my Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy goes totally happily nuts when I show my affection to her - i hug her and kiss and say good studd - she kisses me back, she wiggles her tail, and she's ready to share her love 24/7. Dogs are amazing!

My dogs like attention and to be touched. They sometimes fight among themselves for my affection.
-
Yes! LoL The only member of my family to hug our dog is my little girl, and the dog looks just totally WTF.
-
No, never. I have two cats and they both crave affection.

I've got two cats. The oldest is really into hugs and kisses. He is always somewhere very close to me or my boyfriend. He doesn't really get on our laps on his own, but just wants to be around. He enjoys kisses on his head so much that he can actually do some tricks if I reward him with kisses. When I tap on a bucket he jumps right in and I can sway him around, for example. (he's not a kitten anymore, he's 7) I can also make him 'play' the piano in exchange for kisses. At night he sleeps on me or my boyfriend head, and when we wake up and hug him he immediately starts to purr. My youngest cat (6 years old) is a bit more shy. It took us some years before he really liked to be hugged. Now he also enjoys getting kisses on his head, but he is still a bit weirded out. He does like it, but at the same time he is always just a little bit uncomfortable with it. But he is incredibly sweet and really likes a few good strokes and scratches on his chin and back.

My dogs love hugs and cuddles. One more than the other, but still, plenty of love to go around over here!

My cat, no, he likes it. Silly cat. My husband's cats freak.
