Well if they said that to me at my age right now...I would think something was terribly wrong and they were going to give me some bad news.
-
If they had never said it to me before, I would assume there is something wrong.
-
I wouldn't be a bit surprised, they say it to my quite often. My dad used to, but he's gone now! It will be 4 years the 27th this month. I really miss him : * (
-
Would be shocked if my mom said it but my dad always tells me he loves me :)
-
A bit uncomfortable, to be honest.
-
I'd be so happy!
-
I'd be shocked if my Dad said that. I make it a point to say it to my daughter everyday. I don't want it to be a shock to her one day.
-
The first thing I would do is ask if she is okay. (assuming that it is my Mom saying this, because my Dad says things like this to me all the time, but doesn't mean it...< long story) I would ask her why she was telling me this, and if she has been to the doctor lately...
-
...my dad told me that last week. I had a breakdown and started missing home and I was upset that my mom doesn't acknowledge me anymore. He said that I was a great kid and that she was missing out on someone who would've made her proud...
-
I'd panic and scream, "What did the doctor say?!"
-
they told me that just last week. it made me feel good.
-
My parents didn't say it very often, but they started to recently. Sometimes it makes me feel uncomfortable, but I kinda like it. It makes me want to give my parents something to brag about.
-
Surprised
-
I would take them immediately to the hospital..they would have to be sick or something.
-
I would need shock treatment.
-
I would be touched and then probably tear up like a little baby.
-
I would be curious as to what they are going to ask me to do next or ask me about my past.
-
i guess i would say, when did you stop hating me?
-
I would be greatly surprised but deeply ashamed because my mother doesn't know all the secrets and skeletons in my closet. Of course, she loves me because I am her son but I am no angel.
-
With my Dad: "I will,Thank you daddy, I love you." With my Mom: "Yup. Love you shorty!" (our relationship is rather crazy)
-
Actually I hear it often enough from the whole family. It creeps me out though when my stepdad says it.
-
"What's wrong?"
-
That happend to me from my mom... I felt very proud and I done that to my old son, my dougter and I will do to my youngest son in a year or so... why? because I really want him to feel what I felt.
-
Never did and they're both gone, so never will.
-
I'd laugh in their faces and ask how the hell they got a hold of me.
-
I would feel awesome. I don't think I've ever heard those words from either of them and probably never will.
-
I'd be worried, as it would mean they were on their death bed.
-
tear up......stand proud...
-
They do that randomly - not often, but every now and then it seems to come out of nowhere. It makes me happy to know that they see me as more than the little girl that they most often treat me as. I know that is hard for parents to do sometimes, so I really appreciate it and usually smile and say "thanks". Sometimes a hug is in order :)
-
I am almost 38 and that has never happened and doubtfully ever will so I don't expect to have to worry about that but if it did happen, I would KNOW I was hallucinating. My parents don't know how to do anything but criticize and remind me of what a failure I am.
-
My Mom is no longer with us, but if my Dad said it I would ask him "Who are you and what did you do with my father?"
-
When they each told me that, my heart was full of joy and it made me want to do something even better to make them more proud. Excellent question!
-
what is going on? are you dieing? not that they do not tell me they love me, but "out of the blue" makes me suspicious.
-
It kinda throws me off man... I'm just sorta like Uhhhhh....ok padre....kinda wasn't expecting that one but ok... Still feels nice though :) Moms a prick though about that one -.-
-
My parents actually tell me quite often but it never gets old. They don't always have something new to say it about but it's usually about how well I've done in life to this point. I can't get enough of hearing it.
-
Am I adopted?
-
I would literally freak out and probably crap my pants because they are both deceased. TM
