no...fists hurt a lot more than words. Anyone can rise above words and move on, but most people carry a black eye for at least a week after catching a jab to the face.
-
The only thing that can hit harder than a fist is a baseball bat. However, well-chosen or ill-used words can sting like crazy
-
Fist's hurt more. Like the old saying goes...sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never harm me.
-
For guys it is the fist and for women it is the words. But destiny hits the worst blow!
-
Both hurt equally in relation to their intended "target". It has been my experience that words often hurt me more than something physical though.
-
Oh yes far worse!!
-
Honestly, I could deal with being hurt. Yeah, it'll hurt like hell while its happening but I'll get over it soon enough. With words, for me atleast, those tend to be more personal. A hit to the face just shows anger, words show whats wrong with you/being undeserving of that persons time (which is just one of the things that you can't always change). A punch may bother me for a day or two, someones words may bother me for a week and cause me to think about them.
-
Oh yes...I'm sorry I have to say that, but yes.
-
words hurt
-
Physical bruises eventually fade away but words remain deep in the memory and can't be taken back. "I'm sorry" just doesn't cut it or remove the pain.
-
Words hurt like hell. I'd rather get punched in the gut :(
-
I don't know about a fist... but a left-handed compliment can feel much like a firm slap.
-
They can. And the pain from words can often last one hell of a lot longer too.
-
Words hit harder if you continue to take them out and hit *yourself* with them. In other words, internalizing the message is what makes harsh words the gift that keeps giving. We do have a choice in it though. A fist hits, leaves a bruise and you avoid the perp. You don't randomly ball up your own fist and sock yourself over and over for years. So it is easier to recover from but we rarely get a choice in being hit or not. So,depending on what you do with them, either one can be the harsher blow.
-
Fist hit harder than words unless the word rocks are thrown by someone I care about or respect.
-
absolutely not if someone says something bad about me i just knock there ass out and they dont have anything else to say anyways i could care less what people think of me
-
Words can only hit hard when they are from someone you love, and while the truth can hurt its sometimes necessary. Call me a wus but i don't want to get punched.
-
They can but do not always
