a box to store someone else's gift in, then they would actually put your gift to use!
-
Perhaps movie passes or a gift certificate for their favorite restaurant would work.
-
Take them out to dinner and a movie, play, or sporting event. Find out what they enjoy doing and make a night of it.
-
A cheque. Maybe they'll never cash it.
-
How about a 1 oz silver coin? They will never throw it away and who knows, maybe it will be worth a lot in the future. Right now you can get one for under $20.
-
gift cards are a good bet and or food you can't store that for very long and it is tasty

a six pack of beer.

A card with money in it, what person isn't going to use the money?? :)
-
Nothing - they obviously dont need anything. I would treat them to a meal and time with me.. and thats it :D
-
How bout a gift cert for their favorite restaurant?
-
Either- a card with a magazine subscription or a donation to a charitable organization, that supports a cause they care about - kids (maybe one of those where they sponsor a kid), the environment, church, animals, politics, even a national gardening association. They often get a monthly thing in the mail with that, and you know your money will be going to a worthy cause. My dad, who is notoriously hard to shop for, has his birthday a week before Xmas, so it's double trouble. This year, one of his gifts will be a membership to the World Wildlife Fund - an organization for animals, which he loves, and he will enjoy quickly glancing at the pictures they send, even if he doesn't read it.
-
A donation to a charity in their name.
-
Gift certificates
-
Give him/her an empty box
-
Get them some shelves in their garage.
-
You could buy them a nice big piggy bank. Show them how to put their money into it. Maybe they keep their money laying all over the place because they lived through the great-depression? In this case, buy them a safe.
-
A gift certificate. They can then choose their own present.
-
Nothing
-
Food everyone needs food A nice gift basket with fruit cheese crackers
-
Food, fruit basket or CHEESE, it doesn't last forever and if they don't use it, it will stink the place up so they will have to dispose of it instead of storing it.
-
something for yourself.
-
i can only guess that this person must be older. get them a gift card to a grocery store and make a date to take them there to use it.
-
cash
-
a really nice card
-
I know someone like that, if I got him something to wear it would never be used. I finally started to get things like music, candle, a warm throw and those items do get used. If all else fails, buy a roll of stamps and envelopes, that is something that would probably get used.
-
how about those space bag thingies! it makes it easier to store all the stuff they accumulate! people who love storing things always love a better way to store! i'm a packrat!
-
If you get someone a present and it isn't used then perhaps they didn't want that present. Find out what they actually want or need and your present will be a smash hit. . PS: We have no clue what they want or need.

My great granny was like that. When she died, she had closets full of clothing and the like that we'd given her over the years that she felt were "too good to use" or she was "saving for company". They had dry rot. When I have to get a gift for someone like that, I get something perishable or a service that I arrange, like maid service or lawn service.
-
A dog
-
A bouquet of cut flowers, that will eventually die and get thrown out but be pretty for a while.
-
Give them a cheque(check) and then you get to keep your money :o)
-
If the person isn't diabetic, most people enjoy candy. I sent someone who is difficult to by for like your person, some maple sugar candy. It went over so well, that she raved on to many people about what a wonderful gift it was, and how it didn't last long. If that isn't an option, consider a gift card or fruit basket.
-
Give them a box or container to hold all of your and others previous gifts...
-
A gift card with no money on it.
-
Buddy and NeedsSome Coffe seem to have got it right - I was going to suggest a supply of kippers.
