    NMAP & THCRUT - I suggest using the graphical front end to NMAP ie: Nmap-GUI otherwise you'll be their for a while reading all the multitude of options. I am a bit unsure of what you mean by tracing, NSLookup would probably do the job in most instances, but these days people can use things like TOR & Proxies for anonymous browsing in which case all you'll get is their node IP and not their actual IP. If in doubt TCPDUMP. If wanting to scan a whole subnet Angry IP Scanner or Thcrut but thcrut is *nix only.
