  • Not really. You could be sensitive to or allergic to one of the ingredients, especially if it was a scented type. Best to use vinegar and water or just plain water to be safe. Many OB-GYN's today suggest against douching now. They feel for the healthy woman it is unnecessary and can hurt more than help.
  • Not unusual - could be the unfamiliarity or a reaction to one or more of the chemicals in it. I would not be concerned. But as Anonymous's answer stated the current thinking is that douching is harmful to our bacterial makeup and I agree having changed in my 50s. Best to just bather and clean while bathing with a natural soap and water. Also I take hip baths in which I have steeped the dried leaves of the daikon radish which helps.
