  • Most check engine lights can be reset by disconnecting the positive battery cable and allowing 5-10 minutes before reconnecting it. If the check engine light still remains on... replace your gas cap first. Sometimes leaks in the seal around your gas cap cause the check engine light to come on. Then, try disconnecting the battery cable again. If this still doesn't fix the problem. Take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic. Good luck! :)
