Not really. Why doesn't he just write something original?
-
No. He should not be riding Adams' coat tails for his own profit. Adams was amazing and his work should remain intact and unaltered.
-
Sure it does. I'll just put it along with the rest of my fan fiction. What? I like fan fiction...
-
I don't like the idea of this. I know other franchises have been turned over to new writers before, but I wouldn't think it could be as good as the creator's vision.
-
yeah if it's half as good as the original it will be great, will there be a t.v series for those of us to lazy to read it.
-
Colfer does his own thing well, but even if the Guide wasn't untouchably epic... I just can't see his writing style adapting to it very well.
-
Not really. I thought the sequals got progressively worse. However, I'll probably read it when it comes out in paperback.
-
Adams left notes and outlines for a few dozen books, most should never be finished but a few gems will be found
-
Nope. My boat just sank.
-
Nope. God, what is even the point? The last couple of sequels were losing steam anyway, I think it's just best to let this go. I have never liked the idea of authors writing sequels to another established author's work. I didn't like it when Derleth took over for Lovecraft, or when Brian Herbert took over the Dune series, or when 9 billion other authors wrote Sherlock Holmes stories after Doyle. If this guy Colfer is an author, let him make up his own stories. Piggybacking on the creativity of someone else does not impress me.
-
Nah, I didn't like the Hitchhiker's Guide anyway. It tried too hard to be zany and witty, and it failed.
-
well not really...the true value of a character is from the person who created him...
-
My kids are big Artemis Fowl fans but I feel Colfer should stick to his own ideas and what he does best.
