Depends on the root cause of the dandruff, anything from stress to scalp infection can cause it. Most anti dandruff shampoo is just soap and zinc, so it doesn't really matter what brand you buy. What matters is you buy right for your hair type. Obviously if you have stress issues or a scalp infection then no shampoo is going to help.
