  • not to a nutter that could only focus on Jesus and the "end times." but to a rational person who, like many others who have some sort of religion, can live a normal life and make normal decisions that are influenced more by what's best for the country rather than their own personal beliefs, sure. btw, i'm not advocating one candidate or the other, i just don't think we should pidgeon-hole people.
  • Absolutely, it is only until recent years that our leadership DIDN'T believe those things and we did just fine. It certainly cannot become such an extreme focus though that the leader doesn't tend to their duties though.
  • How about a leader that doesn't know what he is pssssst (Obama)
  • Most definetly, That has nothing to do with trusting him as a president. Jesus is coming back and if you read the word of God, then you too will find we are in the end times. What is going to happen will happen and waiting for the Lord is good, but we still carry on and do the work he has asked us to do until then.
  • Nope! That's why I'm not voting for them!
  • Not to someone who can't wait to see the coming of Jesus but refuses to use his country's wealth to feed the hungry, to help the needy and to pay the poor's way. Christ was not a warmonger.
  • And the current president didn't?
  • Sure I believe the same thing
  • I would prefer not to, but I think I'm in the minority on that one.
  • Hell no. This country does NOT need another religious nut for president. We need someone who is an athiest who wouldn't put his faith in God to make everything turn out okay, he would try to do something himself.
  • The trick is to find someone who practises what they preach, as opposed to someone who just says the "right" things. I wrote this somewhere before: I want them to fear that if they hurt me then they face the wrath of God. If such a person won't put my interests first, then sure as hell no-one else will even get close! In such a case, a life-time of going to church is a big bonus. If I'm going to get conned by a liar, then I want to get conned by a sophisticated liar, not a simple one. I'm a Christian but I find church boring. I'd be very surprised to find someone who doesn't really believe but still endures a life-time of going to church. That will be their minimum payment for trying to betray me. As for the end times, unfortunately I can't put a date on it, but read your Bible and then read your science magazines, modern history, and keep up with current events in the middle east. Hell! go completely atheist, read up on all the conspiracy theories circulating the world at the moment ... they all lead back to the same place - but you read it in the Bible first!
  • I don't think so. That set of beliefs shows a lack of logic and rational thinking in my opinion. How can someone run a country if they can't tell the difference between reality and fairytale?
  • Good Lord no ::shudders:: Imagine Pat Robertson in The White House. The guy is dangerously cuckoo.
  • Over One billion Indians would hand over their country only to a believer. We had diverse religious leaders and have accepted each and everyone of them here in India. I know you are talking about your own country but I am talking about India only!Even if he was a Christian!
  • I would not trust the nuclear codes to anyone that thinks that a great war mught usher in the "end times."
  • No, that is a bunch of crap, and a form of control.
  • seems to have worked pretty well these last 400 years in america and last 1000 years in europe and australia
  • Most people need someone they can relate to, and the majority are believers, so having a leader with the same beliefs feels secure and comforting, and though I could attribute it to governmental conspiracies, mass control through submission and the like, it's also nice to see, given the consideration that said leader might actually care about the people and what he is saying, that he wants the best for everyone and to make them feel at ease, even if it's some big lie...though I wouldn't particularly feel at ease with some sorta madman who starts hollering about the Apocalypse and the end of times. :/ Believe it or not, this might also affect his actions as leader, if they are true beliefs, and that might not always be good...
  • I trust no one.
  • Yes I would trust someone who believes in the end times, because if he believes tha,t he also believes in the same GOD I do and would most-probably know the WORD and seek HIM for advise and know that any decision he makes he will have to be answer to GOD for. So he would be a GODLY man and GOD-fearing....to me that would mean he would be a great leader for our country. As far as him being anxious to see the coming of JESUS....I guess he would be if this country in his eyes was an utter mess.....which it seems to be right now.
  • As long as it doesn't affect the job they do, then yes, I would.
  • No, not at all. I'd consider emigrating at that point.
  • Only if I could be sure that he/she wouldn't try to hasten the process.
  • G'day Phil in the Blank..CHANGE,.,., "NOOOOOO !", Auzziegob doesn't trust godgobbers,.,PERIOD ! Having to decide which godgobber to vote for(if you want to vote)is an appalling situation !!
  • Ugh -- sounds very typical of Americans. :/
  • Absolutely not. I prefer my presidents to be rational individuals.
  • I think that's one of the worst case scenarios. Not only the possibility of nuclear weapons use in order to help bring all that about - but even less extreme thinks like: 1. Why not borrow huge sums of money? 2. Why care about the environment? 3. Why be concerned for the long term health of the country? it's kids? 4. Why invest in education and science or anything that doesn't bring a quick return? No - every world leader should have a long term vision and plan for the good of their country and the planet. Let the appocolips nuts wands the streets with "The End is Near" signs.
  • Of couse. After all, so many have.
  • Absolutely not. Such a person is mentally unbalanced and not fit to lead a Boy Scout troop, much less a nation.
  • Yes I would.
  • You really think any politician believes that?! ;-)
