Depends how old you are m'dear. I always liked "American Graffiti". I also like "Stripes" and "Animal House" from the old SNL guys. "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" is also a classic.

I like the Danny Kaye movies, especially, "The Inspector General" and "The Court Jester". "Singing in the Rain", "My Fair Lady", "Life with Father", and "How to Marry a Millionaire" are excellent, too. "Life with Father" stars a 16 or 17-year old Elizabeth Taylor.

Here’s one you won’t hear about elsewhere: *Head*. Imagine this: Jack Nicholson, Bert Rafelson, Bob Schneider, and the Monkees get together in a hotel room, one weekend, and get completely stoned on hash and cocaine. While still totally high, they talk into a tape recorder and, when they finally come down, have the bright idea to use the tape as the plot of a movie. Thus, *Head* is born. It stars the Monkees, but it‘s almost nothing like the show. It’s totally psychedelic and drug-induced, mocking the Monkees and the movies and Vietnam and whatever else they can get their hands on. It‘s got cameos by Frank Zappa, Victor Mature, Terri Garr, Annette Funicello, etc.. And of course, it’s got an awesome ’60s soundtrack provided by—guess who?—the Monkees. The movie was a total flop, but it does hold the dubious distinction of being the first film to ever have its rating changed from ‘R’ (for its anti-Vietnam sequences and a muffled curse that you can hear in any ’80s sitcom) to ‘G’ (since, apparently, nobody cared any more). :-P Caveat: go into it expecting something totally different than anything you’ve seen before. Without the right frame of mind, you’ll be bored out of your skull. ;-)
