How does water's high heat capacity influence the ocean? how do conditions on earth differ if our ocean consisted of ethyl alcohol?

The oceans' store heat and help regulate the earth's heating system by circulating thermal currents. An ethyl alcohol ocean would not support life as we know it. Would be highly flammable. A cheap drunk. A cheap fuel. But alas, would not convert CO2 to oxygen as does the algae in the ocean, which currently provides 2/3's of the earth oxygen. Let's leave well enough alone.
