I would say childlike means your innocence is in tact. childish means your innocence is gone but you behave like a bratty child.

I think of childlike as still being filled with wonder at everyday phenomena and childish as not understanding or accepting one's responsibilities.

To me, childlike would be more cute, like innocent. Childish would be more negative, like immaturity and pulling pranks, temper tantrums.

bunch of good answers here, I agree, had to think for a minute, but yes, childlike is sweet and pleasant and childish is usually associated with the negativity that comes from that era.
