-
Well, when I was about to turn 4 I had a heart surgery, and my mother tells me that I was watching the Wizard of Oz while in the hospital, and I was hooked up to all sorts of monitors. Although my face didn't change, apparently my heart began beating extremely fast when the witch came on. So I guess The Wizard of Oz freaked me out!
-
Edward Scissorhands. I know it wasn't suppose to be a horror movie. But it creeped me out.
-
Nightmare on Elm Street. That dam Freddie kept coming into my dreams.
-
The Exorcist!! Who can forget Linda Blair head spin!
-
The Changeling. George C. Scott. THAT was scary!
-
Alfred Hitchcocks *The Birds*. I was older when I saw The Exorcist so it didn't really "scare" me although I believe it is the best horror flick every but when I was little The Birds really spooked me.
-
The nuclear war film Threads - we watched it at school before it was banned and it put the fear of god into me.
-
American Werewolf in London. I remember going to see it at the drive in. Heard most of it from under the dashboard! I was only a youngster...
-
The 2000 Presedential elections
-
I saw 2 1. Ju-on: The Grudge. 2. Boogeyman.
-
Alien and Jaws both scared the shit out of me when I was a kid, but now I seem them for what they are - fake monsters, and ketsup for blood. More recently, 28 Days Later, and 28 Weeks Later really freaked me out!
-
Rose Red. I was at home, sort of recovering from surgery, and my mom made me watch it with her. I was only in fourth grade. Then (and now) I wasn't a big fan of scary movies, since I was younger I had nightmares about the zombies getting me and turning me into one. *shivers* I was proud of myself, because it was the first real scary movie I ever sat through.
-
The Exorcist and Exorcist III by far.
-
I find 1408 horrifying, if you allow yourself to be properly immersed into it. It's just.. the ending... shudder!
-
Definitely the Exorcist........Scary movies just usually entertain me but these possession movies really give me the creeps.
-
I saw it peeking around the corner when I was 6 or 7, so I don't know the title. (My babysitter thought I was asleep, btw.) It was on some tropical island. There were some giant lizards that just kept growing, and a jeep crashed into one and exploded. Anyone recognize it?

- 1. Ju-on: The Grudge. 2. Boogeyman.

I like scary, but not gory. Love Hitchcock movies. when I was younger, "Psycho" was pretty scary...but, "The Birds" really freaked me out! Another one was the old, original silent version of "Nosferatu." I watched it as a pretty young kid, and then when sleeping over with my cousins at my uncle's house, in the dark, a coat rack with a long coat and a light hat looked like the vampire in the dark. I was too freaked out to fall asleep!
-

-
The Ring is a strong contender But I loved Alien, because the setting was perfect and the film had an excellent tagline (In space no-one can hear you scream) That is one of the most hostile movie creature to have been created.
-
exorcism of emily rose
-
The Exorcist!! and "Psycho"!! Yikes (just glad I wasn't pregnate when I saw them!!)
-
I can definitively say "The Exorcist". That one scared the living bezeeus outta me...That was what I liked about horror movies in the 70's they were far more psychological and relied less on gory effects. Also that scene in the Omen...when the woman is on the second floor and she says to damien..."Damien...Im doing this all for you".....and she jumps out the window with a noose around her neck....talk about disturbing....
-
The Exorcist still scares me. When I was a kid, two movies scared the crap out of me - Grizly & Slithis! Both look cheesey now, but when I was a kid camping out or fishing, they did play on my mind!
