  • A kilobyte is 1024 bytes, a megabyte is 1024 * 1o24 = 1 048 576 bytes, The are both measures of computer storage.
  • A Megabyte is bigger then a kilobyte "Byte" is used as a unit of storage measurements in computers.
  • A megabyte (MB) is larger than kilobyte (KB). They are units of digital memory storage and data transmission. A megabyte is approximately 1,000,000 bytes of data. I say approximate because there are inconsistencies in the way the prefixes were originally defined. It could also refer to 1,048,576 bytes or (more infrequently) 1,024,000 bytes. A kilobyte is either 1000 or 1024 bytes, depending on whether it refers to decimal or binary values. The former is the more prevalently found in terms of "authorized" usage for data storage while the later is more often used in reference to data transmission.
  • 2-11-2017 http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Units/prefixes.html You just have to memorize this stuff, at least the ones you work with all the time. It's ok to bookmark the page so you can look up the others when you run across them. There is a prefix every three powers of ten, except for 100, 10, 1/10, and 1/100. To go from one to another you use the LARD rule: LEFT ADD RIGHT DEDUCT. When moving the decimal to the LEFT you ADD to the power of ten. When going to the RIGHT you DEDUCT from the power of ten.
  • Megabyte.
