  • No. The amount of silicon the electronics industry uses is minute. The entire industry worldwide probably uses only a hundred or so truckloads of sand a year, if that. Less than would be used for the concrete for a lingle large building.And few countries are *that* short of sand.
  • No all sand has the right type or quality of silicon to be used. So some sand is useless. What I understand is that the best silicon comes from pure white sand and not yellow sand.
  • That is like asking since diamond and many natural minerals come from congo and other african countries, do they make money off of the sale. Not all sand can be made in Silicon. You need a certain type.
