Wow, they don't make it easy to find! I finally found this tucked away in their terms of service: "AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that helps people 50+ have independence, choice and control in ways that are beneficial and affordable to them and society as a whole. AARP does not endorse, support, or oppose political candidates or parties, and does not have a PAC."

50... You'll probably receive an invitation in the email just before or after you turn it, though you can join WHEN you turn. ;-)

Q: How old do I have to be to join AARP as a full member? A: We welcome all persons 50 years or over, retired or not. A full member is entitled to a membership card and all of our benefits and services. Q: What if I am too young to join as a full member of AARP? A: For those under 50 who support the association's goals and objectives, we offer an associate membership. Once an individual celebrates a 50th birthday, the associate member automatically becomes a full member, receives a membership card, and can take advantage of all of our benefits and services.
