Sears used to have candy counters. I loved the giant chocolate covered malted milk balls that could only be had there.

Flying Saucers which were well erm... sort of brightly coloured edible card in flying saucer shapes with sherbert inside. I've not described them very well, and they sound weirder than they actually were - does anyone else remember them?

I was never into "candy" as such, but there were these chocolate bars called Spira that Cadbury's don't seem to make any more that my Dad used to buy me for a treat that were really nice. Red vines. The really long ones (about 3 feet) sold at Peppermint Palace, which was a candy store cleverly located just 1/2 block north of my school.

A friend of my father's would bring over a tin of Callard and Bauser's candy ( I think this is the correct name)at the holidays. We didn't eat too much candy, so this lasted a long time. Each piece was a bit of a surprise and usually the last ones left were the caramels.

A good old fashioned slab of dark chocolate, I used to go to this place that sold it by the pound, so I ended up getting like 2 pounds of chocolate to last me two weeks, fortunately, I don't go to that place anymore.

Chick-O-Sticks! I used to get them every time I went to the swimming pool as a kid. Still love them today. What they really are is a peanut butter toffee crisp covered in coconut.

My most favorite candy to this day is Rolos. I love the soft chocolate with that chewy caramel center.

Candy buttons. They came on a stick of cardboard like paper and you had to peel them off. Some special candy shops still sale them (The Kandy Kraze does.)

I think they were called "juice pops"? They were various wax shapes that contained a sweet liquid. You would bite into them, like vampires, and suck out the gooey goodness inside! I wonder if they still make any of them? Though, I'd probably find them sickeningly sweet now.

I'm glad you asked. I remember those coke gummies that had actual coke/pepsi inside with a wax top. They took it off the market I think, some morons probably ate the wax and sued them. ;p

Mixed lollies from the milk-bar - had to include milk bottles, raspberries, strawberries & cream, coke bottles, pineapples, snakes & smarties. Mmmm, never as good though, now that I am 29.

The Dippin' Stix. 3 flavors of sugar, and you eat it with a candy stick. Talk about a sugar rush.

What a great question! I recently found my favorite childhood candy at a local store and have been reliving my youth. I am amazed at how the taste and texture bring back fond memories and melt away the years. Chick-O-Stix Toasted coconut on the outside, crunchy peanutbuttery on the inside. yummmm!

Whatever the strangers had. They always give out the best candy. But I preferred it when they gave me Dippin' Stix. It was a candy stick that you dipped into one of 3 flavored pockets of sugar.
