Does the energy-saver setting on my air conditioner actually use less energy or does it just shut off when it reaches a certain temp.? Doesn't the normal setting shut off when it gets to the set temp. too?

the energy saver should save power, but whith it on you should probably notice that the room temprature is not controlled as accuratly. e.g. whtih the energy saver on the a/c will turn on only after a bigger change in temprature in comparison whith the energy saver turned off Reduceing the overall running time
