Between those two, I would pick Jim Brown because of his incredible power. One thing interesting about Jim Brown is that he was probably the best lacrosse player in NCAA history ( besides his football accomplishments). Jerry Rice was probably the hardest working NFL receiver ever, and could he ever run routes.

Jerry Rice

Jim Brown was a better player because he was so strong and could plow over ppl. Jerry Rice was good but he stayed away from contact

I would have to say, give me a break, JIM BROWN, JERRY RICE. Chosing who is way to complicated. First lets go back to when the first football game was played. Let's remember football is a TEAM sport. Next there are era's of football. So the best way to determine the best player(s) who were the best in there era's then breakdown how those players fit into the next and subsequent era's. I say maybe he hasn't been born yet?? Next you would have divide offence and defence. You have to ask this question: What offensive team would you not want face? All Time; SF 49's With both Joe Montana and Steve Young. This team literally scored at will. Jerry Rice was fortunate to have 2 of the most accurate passers to play the game. St Louis Rams Kurt Warner era, this teams offence was poetry. Defence? Pittsburgh steelers of the 70'S "Deadball era" Without a doubt you didn't have a few guys you feared, there was a TEAM OF THEM , Mel Blount, Mean Joe Green, L. C Greenwood, Donnie Shell, Dwight White, Jack Ham, Jack Lambert, Any Russell. These guys literally manhandled offensive teams. Most Feared of that group, Jack Lambert, Jack Ham, Andy Russell. These Linebackers ruled in stopping the run, sacking the Quarterback, and interceping the quarterback(statically). Most feared player of all Time" Dick Butkus". Offensively my pick for quarterback is Joe Montana, Steve Young, Kurt Warner, Y.A Tittle, Terry Bradshaw, all the mannings and George Blanda. QB that know how to win: Joe Montana, George Blanda, Brett Farve,Jeff Hostettler, Fran Trarenton, Bart Starr, Ben Roethlesburger, Frank Reich, Johnny Unitas and ELI Manning. Pure passers: Steve Young, Kurt Warner, Eli Manning and George Blanda, and I'm not talking guys that have had 1, 2, 3 years. My pick is 2 players, Joe Montana and George Blanda, If you watch the films of these 2, you realize 2 things, if the routes are run properly the ball is right at ribcage at full run and with tight coverage. QBs that know how to win; George Blanda, Brett Farve, Joe Montana, Ben Roethlesburger hasn't been in the league long enough. MY pick, George Blanda.

Wow. That's a tough one. I would go with Jerry Rice, but that is simply because of how long he played at such a high level.

Tough call, but of those two, I'd say Jim Brown...
