  • the easy way is to buy a SATA/IDE-USB transfer unit, they usually can be found at Fry's, and many places that sell computer parts, like Comp-U-Bytes etc you then put new drive in PC and using the transfer unit, you take old drive (as long as its not dead) and lay on counter and hook up though this, one end plugs into HD, one end into USB on PC and has a electric plug at other end , then on PC in my computer click the drive where you want transfer to begin. works with SATA OR IDE and on PC or laptop HD's
