  • Well, I would think that they would put bombs in a shipment to U.S. (I.E., instead of toys, they sent bombs). These bombs would have remote deteonators and since they would be taken in at a major town of import, that would be a nice crippling effect on our economy. Then it would be all out. This is of course discluding nuclear bombs from the equation due to the fact that no one wins with nuclear war.
  • If they were smart, they would stop accepting US dollars for goods and start only accepting a stronger currency (like the Euro) - that would lead to a US meltdown without the use of a single bullet.
  • I'm thinking about nuclear conflict. Invasion, I don't know. It would be a house by house fight. And why China would like to take over America? To control the world? Oh, god.
  • They would get to the USA through Mexico.
  • Very doubtful that China would ever invade the US or vice-versa. Our respective countries and populations are simply too large and it would be too expensive to try to control the other's territory. What is more likely to happen is that either China will rise up and "dethrone" the US as the world's sole superpower or the US will, at some point, smack down China and maintain its current status. History would seem to favor the young upstart, but America is a unique country, perhaps not as bound by history as other nations.
  • they would put lead paint on toys.
  • With great difficulty. They would never make it through the Pacific. Our Navy is too strong for that.
  • They would flood the markets with poisoned food, medicine and toys! Already the FDA supports the Chinese manufacturers with the total disregard of the consumers! Medications from China are killing people and hospitals that have been ordered to remove anti-blood clotting meds have refused to do so! The Chinese supply medications comprised of gypsum wall board compound and yellow road paint but the FDA continues to refuse to do anything about any of these supplies entering our markets!
  • On their bycicles
  • Who says they haven't already, theres a chinatown in every city : ))))
  • First they would make us really dependent upon them by flooding our market with cheap goods. Then they'd slip chemicals like melamine into our food supply, then they would buy out our businesses from under our feet using the money we sent them for their cheap goods (oh wait, the've done all those things...) and finally, once they owned everything here, all they need to do is evict us.
  • well in war china would probably use guided rockets then helicopters and airplanes soilders and snipers then they wuold retreat and drop a nuke.
  • The question is why would they want to.
  • Lets think happy thoughts.
  • It depends on the situation. Military or economic attacks are available.
  • With their red army!
  • They already have.
  • There is a large difference between attack and invade. China could easily *try* to attack the US home land, but given the state of technology today, it is not truly viable; thier subs are of poor make and upkeep; their fighters and bombers would need to make over the pole refuelings, which is essensially in our backyard; and to move their troops in any numbers would take weeks of logistics and in troop transport ships. neither attack or invasion of the US homeland is truly viable for China...at least, not right away. For China to effectively bring to bear their arms and manpower, I think they would partake in a northern invasion of Canada; from there, blitz our bases in Alaska for its early warning systems and deepwater ports. from there, they could use Alaska's airbases to strike along the west coast, and if they fought as far south as vancouver, onterio, and montreal, then they could also strike into the heartland. Would it work? Maybe. They would definately meet harsh, well trained resistance and geurilla warfare from the Canadian Army and civilian population along with air and missile strikes from the US and her allies. Also, I do not believe that the Chinese army is as well prepared for arctic conditions as are the Canadian forces. Also, the US and allies would certainly mobilize promptly from the various Pacific bases (namely the carrier base in Japan) to strike at the heart of China. this is where it gets tricky for the Chinese. Most of their industrial and agricultural centers are in the eastern region, along the Yangtze river. target density is just too high for the Chinese not to suffer greatly. the only card left in to China would be the nuclear card. If they started tossing those around, even theatre nukes in the 1 - 5 kt range, it would set of a firestorm. if we responded in kind, then it would endanger over 1 billion souls; if we didn't, then we might all have to learn mandarin.
  • Given the history of the last 50 years, China is more concerned about the US invading or attacking them and other countries.
  • They don't have to attack, they own us.
  • I feel that any Country would start within our borders, and follow up with a strategic plan.
  • If they recalled the money the US owes them then the US wouldnt be able to afford to mobilise their troops, instant victory!
  • They'd stash all their troops and vehicles in the same cargo container ships that they use to ship their manufactured goods to us in. Then they'd swarm at the ports.
  • They may not have to do that physically. They have enough missiles to harm any country if they want to.But they are here to do business so they will not do that! No country today can risk a nuclear war or physical war when the world economy is so much in deep trouble!
  • Eh. Unlikely... The only way China would attack the US is if there was no Nato and no strategic nuclear weapons. And even then, they wouldn't have a chance. The US air force is, I think, superior to anything China can field, what with their high-tech fighters and stealth bombers. As for the navy... china doesn't have a chance. They might have an advantage in terms of manpower, but they can't use that until they have naval superiority as well. So... the only way they could go up against the US is if they established their own network of alliances and were prepared to risk a world war... In that scenario they'd have to launch strikes agains all the US's carrier battle groups... then attack the airfields... try to take out communications... though that would take a huge effort, since they'd have to disable the internet... and they'd need weapons they could use against sattelites... Then they could keep up sustained bombing while they sent in the invasion army... In short, it would take a huge amount of equipment and staging areas...
  • i believe they would do it from the inside...poison our food or water supply...sell us tainted goods that will make us sick and die...oh wait, they are already doing that!
  • It's quite simple. China would just have to cease trading with the US and then the US would have no products at all and be thrust back into the stone age due to it's unbelievable dependence on consumerism. Then china could invade with a smartcar armed with a slingshot and win.
  • Submarines. Giant submarines full of Chinamen. Missiles wouldn't work - planes wouldn't work - surface navy wouldn't work. They'd have to have a bunch of huge subs full of Chinamen, just able to surface on American coastlines and deploy troops. China's strength is in their foot soldiers; they would have to find a way to utilize that.
  • Number one: At present China cannot launch overseas offensive wars, this is due to the fact their navy is very small and not equipped for large sea battles and troop transport. This is one of the biggest reasons why China has been wanting to but cannot invade Taiwan, the other is that the USA has pledged to defend the Island.
  • Pretty easy really. All they would have to do is destroy our power grid. After a month of no power the masses of coddled suburban and urban Americans would panic. Looting and pillaging would ensue. Then the Chinese army could pretty much walk onto our soil with no problems at all after about three months of mass panic and presidential inexperience will have taken it's toll.
  • Not possible. China's armed forces are basically defensive. They lack the ability to project force the way the U.S. does. Plus, ever since WWII you really need to control the air to move troops and they are nowhere near capable of that.
  • The Renigade Muslims will get us long before China will.
  • They would not do it militarily at all. They do not need to even attack or invade.Economically it will happen and is happening. They already make most of the products for the world. They have also have lent the US copious amounts of money.
  • sabotage, and total war
  • I'm going to leave all the economic comments at the way side seeing as how China's main economic engine is the US. most of the economic theorys already proposed are pretty worthless. So lets focus on Military action. . Can the Chinese launch a major offensive against the US? The answer is a resounding no. They have neither the air power, nor naval might to land troops on American soil. So if they wanted a war with the US they'd need a proxy. . By attacking either Japan or the Philipines, they could force an American response. Without expounding on the military benefits of a suprise attack, vs home field advantage. Either the Philipines or Japan would fall within 10-14 hours. Give or take. Not nearly enough time for America to mobilize and react. . Then we'd be fighting a WWII style liberation campaign of Island Hopping, and jungle warfare. America I believe would win out in the end, it would be a bloody and costly battle, not only for America but the entire world as a whole.
  • Economically. Underbid our manufacturing capability, buy up the US debt so it can be used as a whip, and they will be in a perfect position to command us to do as they wish. Disobedience will result in economic chaos on cue. They'd never need to risk a single soldier to gain their victory. Sun Tsu would be proud.
  • They've already done it with cheap imports
  • I don't know, but if we were to attack them we'd first cut off their water supply is what I've heard. That's a nice thought, eh. Will we ever get out of the dark ages? "As flies are to wanton boys are we to the gods, they kill us for their sport."
  • They would probably start by flooding the market with cheap goods ruining our economy. They might even concentrate their efforts by opening millions of stores that would sell anything for say, oh I don't know, a dollar yo?...
  • That's quite a big "if" there, considering they are struggling domestically on a lot of fronts and owe the majority of their economic growth to the buying power of the American consumer.
  • by putting lead into our children's toys....
  • rice bombs
  • My father always said that on a given day, on a given order, all Chinese restaurants in the U.S would poison the food. That would get rid of about 50% of the U.S. population. He was kidding!!
  • They would need a big armada of ships which they do not have. And I think China has to do enough at home.
  • It's already happened but nobody has noticed: they've invaded the US with cheap imports and they have taken over the rest with the money they've loaned the government which can't possibly be paid back ever
  • Start marching and shooting.1 billion solders.
  • Sheesh, with so many they could just walk on shore and breathe all our air:)
  • Well, they could first put acid bombs in the ships they sell to the U.S. and the detonate them in the middle of the sea and make it like an accident. U.S. would loose all the supplies they need. And they won't suspect China because they think China is too scared to do such an attack. U.S. would also think that China lack the equipment to do it, and so to suspect other countries, like North Korea. The U.S. might be forced to use more money to buy ships from other countries, lowering the money they have. And when the time comes, hit the main communication bases, whileattacking the military bases. This will cripple the whole country. send 'suicide bombers' to the front and make it like a terrorist attack. The U.S. will have so many possibilities of enemies to attack. one mistaken attack on the wrong country, and the whole would boycott it and cripple the country once more. of course, this strategy only works if China have a brilliant strategist.
  • To attack the US, it could be done any number of ways: Through computer espionage, DDoS, Viruses, etc... physically "By Proxy" as one AB'er already answered (that is, by attacking locations which the US have occupancy in the Japanese mainland and Pacific region), or by single agents acting covertly while already within the US (although their acts would likely/hopefully be monitored and thwarted by the US intelligence agencies). How effective would these attacks be? They could potentially be catastrophic if the attack were large enough and no warning was detected. Would they be successful? To a certain extent, yes; I wouldn't doubt some attacks would be successful. If China's "end-game" were invasion of the US, they would have to start in the Pacific region, in Japan and/or Taiwan, as a springboard to continue eastward... but their Naval Fleet would be crippled by the Japanese and US fleet in the Pacific; and their remaining transport vessels wouldn't be sufficient to continue and hit the West coast of the US with any considerable victory. Just thinking about this makes me think of the movie "War Games"... it is really a no-win situation.
  • They lack the capability to project any significant non-nuclear force outside their own back yard. +5
  • They would stop packing immigrants into cargo containers and start packing soldiers.
