  • I live here and I love it. Its big and has so much to do (museums, parks, restaurants, landmarks, etc.) and it is so much more open that NYC. If you're looking to move here I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. If you're looking to visit (and you can answer with a comment) then I would love to suggest places to stay/eat/visit.
  • I went there once. It was awesome.
  • Very nice.
  • They don't know how to vote for good Senators...
  • I really enjoyed the 6 weeks I spent in that city.
  • Kind of cold and windy half the year, great attractions though.
  • The Cubs baseball team is the most overrated team... (I live in Chicago, but I don't support them)
  • its plenty windy in chicago. if you say you live on the east side, you dont live in chicago, you live in lake michigan. it used to be al capone's city. i have been in downtown chicago. its just another megatropolis. it has a nice airport. there is the Elevated Train, commonly called the EL. It is really noisy. Lots of people live under the EL tracks. their home shakes. not too far away to the north is the usnavy boot camp. and then wisconsin is beyond. i wouldnt want to live there, its too cold for me. and too windy. thats why they have an airport there is because of the steady wind. the police used to be corrupt in chicago. it was always some big newspaper story. the chicago mayor usually is in the news. chicago and prohibition are two words often seen together. I dont know much more. for what it is...thats my opinion.
  • Their babyback ribs are out of this world!
  • Their babyback ribs are out of this world!
  • I've been there several times, and I really like it. My wife and I vacationed there last year. Visited the Art Institute and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Saw a Second City performance. Went to a Cubs game. Went to Andy's Jazz Club. Ate a bunch of great meals, including Smoke Daddy's ribs, Rick Bayless's Topolobampo and more. Took a self guided tour of the outdoor art, including works by Chagall, Picasso, Miro and Calder. We'll go back in a few years and do it all again.
  • Besides electric blues, Al Capone & friends don't know much about it!
  • the old musical group, Chicago, was really groovey, dude. the city, Chicago, is awesome! it has some of the best colleges, law and medical schools, it has theater, comics who'll keep you rolling in the isles, restaurants that are out of this world and parks. it seems to have more of a town / neighborhood kind of feel to it than, say, New York City or London. it's a whole lot cheaper than NYC or London, too. i like the visit. i think i'd move there, if it weren't for the weather and, at least relative to where i come from, the crime and gangs. however, like my ex-wife's former ob/gyn, i'd probably move there for the right girl.
  • Chicago is a great city! It's got all the attractions of New York with the small-town feel of Boston. The city is home to beautiful parks, great theater, amazing food, and all sorts of fun stuff to do. Anyone who doesn't like Chicago simply doesn't like cities.
  • I have been there quite a few times on business and found it to be a pretty interesting city for the most part. :)
  • I was in the windy city one time for a couple days. Seems like a nice town. If I had the opportunity I'd go back!
  • I love Chicago, I lived there my whole life until last year and I want to go back! Please rescue me from Kentucky! =( Chicago has everything- architecture, food, music, the Lake, museums, history, art, nature areas and much more. Something for everyone, it's awesome! =)
  • I lived there for 11 years. It's an okay place to visit, but a crappy place to live. SO MUCH TRAFFIC and the most horrible winters I've ever experienced.
  • I don't understand the fascination with Italian Beef in Chicago... but other than that it is a great place to visit. Not sure I would want to live there.
  • Chicago is the most beautiful city that I've ever seen. The best memories of my whole life took place in Chicago. Hope you don't mind if a list a few: -The Museum Of Science and Industry--yay field trips! -Lake Michigan--went to rainbow beach every summer! -The Brookfield Zoo--more field trips! -Playhouses and Theaters! -The Cubs! -The Bulls! -Wrigley Field! -Ethic Restaurants and Smorgasbords -Old Town--back in the 60's -It's Here--back in the 60's -McCormick Place The winters in Chicago are very cold. I don't miss that. I would never want to have to drive in that much traffic again. But, all and all back in the 50's, 60's and most of the 70's, Chicago was really my kind of town.
  • I like chicago it is a wonderful place to visit but just like you said I would not want to live there but I guess the thirll of the city is the skyscrappers and the entertanment there but has far has living in that city that is something I would not consider too expensive and the crime is very bad there
  • I like the fact that the entire county has a 36% interest rate (highest in the U.S.) guaranteed by the federal government for those who want to make the investment of buying tax liens. Although it looks good, I do not like the way they dye the river green for Saint Patrick's Day.
  • I love Chicago, although i have never lived anywhere else in my 33 years here on earth, but i have to say i can't stand our winters....once my son finishes high school, i will be moving somewhere warm...sunny...humid is ok as well....but i know i will miss Chicago, it's such a big small city if you knwo what i mean.
  • I've only been there once but all of my friends tell me it's great. I hear the people are the friendliest people you will ever meet..... I think I want to live there one day.....Maybe.
  • They were a great band. First one of their kind.
  • I lived in DuPage county from age 13-23, and mostly hated it - flatness, traffic, winters. If I lived there today I'd also hate the exorbitant housing costs. I guess the people are mostly pretty friendly, and, being of Slavic descent, appreciate the different ethnic looks instead of the white folks all being Germanic or English, as in Kansas City where I live now.
  • I live in the suburbs. The traffic sucks and there isn't much to do when you are not right in the city.
  • Chicago is the BEST city eva! You should move there. There are tons of great attractions!!!
  • its windy
  • error, please flag as nonsense
  • great and windy.
  • LOVE to visit Chicago, but I wouldn't want to live there.
  • Chicago has changed since I grew up there from 1954 until I left the area in 1978. I liked Chicago during those years because there was always something to do. When I think Chicago, I think of the Loop, the museum of science and industry, the field museum, the brookfield zoo, lincoln park zoo, the cubs and Wrigley field and McCormick place. Chicago also has some of the best food to be found anywhere. One of my fondest memories of Chicago was "Riverview", which is no longer there. There is a great diversity of nationalities in Chicago and I like that. Along with that comes many different kinds of food. All in all, I can say that I am glad that I was raised in Chicago.
  • I love it!! I grew up in the suburbs! Chicago is a great place to visit -- wonderful shopping, restaurants and attractions and the city is not too big.
  • I think it is a world class city. Chicago has problems which is to be expected with a metro area of nine million. The diversity is immense.
  • Chicago is a city that has not kept up with change. Many of its residents are poor or working class. Yet they pay some of the highest taxes in the country. Their neighborhoods are crime ridden, There are very few supermarkets and large chain stores. It school system is corrupt and outdated and based on a caste system. To get a job with the many govts. you must know someone in politics, Drug dealing is rampant and done out in the open. Every service for its residents is for sale to the highest bidder. finally chicago is a haven for illegal aliens from all over the world.
