  • A Mac. Definitely, the best Mac you can buy.
  • First, I will warn you to stay away from Dell if you don't want to lose your sanity. Anything more than notepad and you will have serious problems. As far as a specific computer, I would steer you towards a MacBook Pro. DJing requires lots of audio, which requires fast processing for mixing, playing, editing, etc. A 15" MacBook Pro, looking at the specs, would most likely suit your needs just fine. However, it is a bit pricey (I got a fully loaded dell inspiron a couple months ago with a 3yr warranty and a whole bunch of accessories for $1700 all said and done). I wouldn't repeat the process, but keep in mind other options before you spend $2500+.

  • Well. It depends what kind of djing you want to do. If you want to do a bunch of editing and mixing you are going to need a pretty powerful computer. I would get at least 4Gs of ram for that. And the fastest processor you get afford. You will also need a lot of hard drive space to hold all your songs if you play a lot of parties. You don't necessarily need a mac. I know a lot of people doing the home computer recording studio thing that do fantastic without a mac. I think it's more important to look at specifications instead of brands. You can get much cheaper laptops with the same specs as a mac. But, if you can afford it, you might as well just get a macbook pro.
  • Mac is the best..
  • Depends on your budget. Definitely not a Mac unless you're buying a top end model. The rest of the Mac lines are mince.
