Looking at engine from front, it's on the right of the cylinder head, (the gearbox end) with a horizontal water hose running to it and a also metal pipe from the exhaust that's held onto it by two bolts. Up to 2000, it was a complex casting incorporating a vertical metal cylinder (the actual valve) on top, all held onto the RH end of the engine with 4 horizontal bolts. It had a multiplug on top. Later engines have a separate vertical metal cylinder held on by two vertical screws, also with a multiplug on top Tony
