  • He needs to see a doctor, a razor cut on the lip is difficult to heal, considering the lips are alway in motion.
  • take him to a hospital!!! u shud of done tht whilst it were bleeding!!
  • stitches
  • Priority 1: did the razor have any rust whatsoever?? If so, he will need a tetnus shot immediately. If there is enough of a cut to cause significant bleeding, apply pressure with sterile gauze until bleeding has stopped. I assume by this time, bleeding is not a concern. Depending on the type of cut he has would depend on what you would do next. If the cut is like a cat scratch type because the direction in which the razor was moved (but deeper),then there he should be checked by a doctor incase stitches are needed. If the cut was in the opposite direction (as we would normally shave) then it will heal. Unfortunately due to the area, there isn't much that you can put on it. Make sure if you apply any ointment that it is safe should your son lick the area with his tongue and injests some of the cream. Luckily, the mouth area does heal quickly. If any signs of infection appear, I would certainly check with a doctor.
  • Thanks for your help. The Bleeding stopped and he is o.k. He is just complaining of a stinging sensation now. Needless to say my husband got a piece of my mind for leaving the razor out.
