I don't know about a head bop, but my one cat (who thinks he's a dog) always comes flying to greet me as soon as I get home.
-
I'll lightly tap my cat on the head sometimes, if she's bad. Nothing extreame at all. Other times I'll just spray her with water. If she's on the counter I just yell "Get off the effin counter Dog!" and she jumps down.
-
My cat stretches, yawns, and comes trotting in to greet me when I get home from work. Sometimes, if she's really missed me, she'll give me a "kiss" (either just sniffing my nose or mushing her head against my face).

My cat knows some how when I get home. I think it's cuz he is use to a routine, so i stand at the bottom of the stairs and he comes running down. Then I pick him up and give him a big hug. It's funny though you can tell when he is not having a good day cuz he won't come down, I have to go and find him.

I had a cat years ago that used to head bop me. He's been dead for a few years and none of the cats since will do it. I miss that.
-
Most of the cats I've had and currently have have done that.
-
my cat comes flyin to the door when I walk in and rubs up against my legs until I sit my purse down and pick her up. She sometimes headbutts me when she's really happy to see me.
-
She head bumps, but if I make kissy noises, she'll put her little face up and allow me to touch her nose with mine. I love my cat....
-
Yep.I'll also hold them like a baby.
-
I bump heads with one of my cats. And they all rub against my legs until I scratch them in their favorite place. :)
-
One of my kitties stands up and stretches his front paws on my leg so I will pick him up. (It's really cute)
-
i have nudger, nibbler, one that hits me with her tail... they will stand on the freezer in the kitchen to greet me when i walk in the door cause they wanna eat.
-
Yes. My cat slams his head into me and meows at me until I respond to him.
-
I poke mine in the nose and he likes it...weird little kitty.
-
i do nosies or kisses, where they rub their nose against mine.. its soo endearing :D
-
I say 'Hi kids' and maybe pet them. Not really a fan of the cats these days.
-
My last catr used to head bop me and go all the way around my head!
-
my cat started the head bopping thing herself; I didn't know it existed. it's a variation on rubbing temples to exchange "family" scents; I guess these cats just do it a little more enthusiastically. . .remember the Tenctonese greeting? (Alien Nation). And now Teyla on Stargate: Atlantis does sort of the same thing!
-
The head bop you are talking about is commonly referred to as head butt. It is a common activity of cats including large cats like lions and tigers and it is a show of affection. To have a cat do that to you is a compliment.
-
I like the greeting where I run at them and they run up a tree. Woof!
-
yes, we "bump" heads..as I call it. I can ask for a "bump" and she will come and give me one...sometimes she will bump me 2 or 3 times in a row....purring very loudly...I just love her so..........
-
I sometimes touch noses with Tika, usually I just put my hand out and she 'kisses' it. Tika 'welcomes' me by rubbing with her forehead. She does a 'hop' greeting to my roommate. I also meow to her, and sometimes she answers.
