I didn't start lying until about fourteen or so. Before that, I lied very rarely. I don't tell big lies, but I exaggerate stories and past experiences to the point where they are blatantly untrue. I'm kind of ashamed of it and am trying to train myself to stop, or at least decrease it.
-
yes..I have 3 in my family.
-
I couldn't possibly tell you.
-
Yup... Half my family.
-
My last,so called, friend was one.She would carefully build one lie on another.I could see it clearly, but would give her countless chances to "Come Clean".In the end I confronted her,and she started to verbally attack me.That was the end of the whole thing.

Yes, in High School. She was very two faced and I couldn't stand it. She would say one thing to my friends and another thing to me. Thank god thats over.
-
my wife... and she is presently spinning 3 different contradicting webs of lies, one to me, one to her "soul mate" and one to the guy she is living and sleeping with. the only people who believe her lies are the guy she is sleeping with and herself.

Yes, I've met at least three in my life whom I am sure were sociopaths.

Yes, she swore up and down that her dad was a prince of Samoa. Yet she was always broke and lived in a studio apt. She told me she had her own jet in Samoa and that she liked to live the way she was living because she wanted to learn responsibility. LOL ! She was crazy. I can write a book on her stories
-
I've met numerous people like that. Most of them have been men (aquaintances, not relationships). I wonder if men have a propensity towards it? +5
-
yep, my girls' dad. what an a**hole.
-
yes, my friend's now ex boyfriend was such a liar! we even tried to tell him that he was such a compulsive liar but he denied it.
-
Haven't we all? There are so many it's hard to believe we haven't all run into one, at least once in our lives.
-
Yep.. a few. One of my uncles is like that.. he will tell you he sent the first email back in the 70's. He will tell you that he invented spanish tile roofing.. he will tell you a story that you know he is lying about because you were there and can remember exactly what happened. It is quite uncomfortable to stand there and have someone telling a story that you know is not true.
-
Yeah, my ex boyfriend, thats why he is my ex and I am one a single lady (scarred for life at only 15:((( )
-
Yes, my Dad.
-
yes they are funny to be around because you can make fun of them behind their back
-
when i done agency work there was this one dude who was doing the same sort of rounds as me, and he was a bonefide idiot, literally. the stories would just keep coming one after the other, each one slightly more ridiculous, and he got so into it, i swear he actually started to think he was telling the truth, even tho i knew for a fact he was lying. like he was flat out the ugliest guy ive ever seen, and he'd act like he had ladies hanging off him, always going on about his mad sex adventures - the dude was a straight up virgin. even when you called him up on a lie, he would try to lie his way out of it, just digging himself deeper, me and this other work dude used to see how far we could take him, acting like we believed it.
-
Oh, I happened to have one as householder. My nightmare.
-
my father
-
Yup.. I was also a compulsive liar in my early teens. I was very messed up and suffered with depression. It was due to no feeling of self-worth, so I try not to be too hard and judgemental now when I come across them. I try to understand why they feel the need to lie. We all have our reasons for lying, and I can't help but feel that many compulsive liars need our help and understanding.
-
Oh, yeah. I've had the misfortune to knowing more than one compulsive liar. My ex-husband for one. If he told me the grass was green, I wouldn't have believed him!! +4
-
Met????? I used to work with two of them. They would lie for no good reason...just because. So glad they both are gone!!
-
