If you don't know your history, then you're bound to fumble through the future. Sometimes it helps to know your history because it can make things in life easier to understand, and what we humans like to say, "more predictable"

Everyone says "so we dont repeat the same mistakes" yet we do. In fact, we repeat them often to an even worse degree... However, I do think that we learn from others' attitudes, behaviours, deeds, creations, be these people dead or alive.

Not so important to learn history. Why not just make one?

It's important that people learn about those ancestors who made sacrifices and put themselves in harm's way in order to make us enjoy our safety, lifestyles, and comforts of today. Will we be able to do the same for those future generations which will be succeeding ours?

I enjoyed learning about history because I found it extremely interesting and also learning about history is how you find out and begin to understand why the world is like it is today. It is events in history that shape our future and it contains many people who should be remembered for what they did for us and our future.

So that it isn't repeated. To get a sense of identity. To just know about the world and what's happened in the past. It's so important. It's too easy to just live in a bubble and not think about anything but the present.

There's richness of wisdom found in history. Every political-religious-social-economical conditions every nation finds itself in presently, is connected to a past history. Too many events of evil nature took place in the past, but a lot of good things also happen. Neither the good nor the bad things should be ignored, overlooked or downplayed; for there are a lot of valuable lessons we can draw from in our struggle to build a better societies and better future.

Because history has a tendency to repeat itself. So if you don't learn the major lessons of history, we will be doomed to repeat it.
