  • There is no wrong or right answer here. I have personally attended many funerals, of family and friends, and as a funeral director, it is my job. Every time, you will see people who deal with grief in many different ways. Attending the funeral is your way of showing support to the loved ones that are grieving. If you choose not to attend the interment, you are not going to offend anyone. I have known many people that are just too uncomfortable to be at this part of the ceremony. You need to remain within the realm of where you feel most comfortable, whilst still offering support to the people that are grieving. Funerals can be very personal situations that make us do things we wouldn't normally, but you personally don't need to feel like you're doing anything wrong by attending the funeral only. Best of luck :-)
