  • They are both wonderful names!
  • I love Olivia but it is very common today. Not too fond of Chance. I seem to like the names of the Apostles for boys (even though I'm not christian). But what matters is if YOU like the names, not me.
  • Olivia is so so but Chance is a big no no How about Cyndi for the lass and William for the lad?
  • I agree with K-rex and Faerie. Olivia's nice. Chance to me sounds like an accident.
  • I adore Olivia. Olivia is the number 8 popular baby name for girls. I am a fan of less than popular names so there aren't 4 other kids in her class with that name. Chance is OK. I am not a fan of the name. I like Cody or Cooper. If you're looking for a C name.
  • Olivia.. hm, meh.. not one of my favorites, but that might be because it sounds pretty ugly in Danish.. What about "Rikke"? ;) ^^. . But Chance.. what's up with that? I mean, is that even a name? Why not fortuitousness, now we're at it :S
  • Ah, 'Chance' So the poor kid was an accident, was he?
  • Olivia ...is good . Chance ...hmmnnnn ...okay ...Matt is good ! I like the name Matt :-) !
  • Not sure where you are but Olivia is quite popular in some parts of the world. It is an okay name. My mother loves the name and would have loved for me to call my daughter Olivia. Chance is a nice name but to me it sounds more like a name for a dog than a baby boy. Sorry. What matters in the end is what you like. Good luck.
  • Olivia is fine, Chance is really, really bad news. I would really need to know the last name to suggest something that would be euphonious.
  • Love, love, love the name Oliva. Dislike Chance. Funny, the guy who did my tattoo was named Chance. . .lucky for me it was just his name :)
  • Olivia is fine, but i would also suggest Jessica, and for a boy i like James or Steven
  • I actually like both of those names. They are both unique. =)
  • i really like those names. good choice.
  • Both names seem pretty reasonable considering what people are naming thier kids these days. You always have to think about how the name can be made fun of by other kids. Chance has some possibilities but it's passable. If for instance a boy named Chance walks into a room and there's already a boy named Chance there does that make him the second Chance?
  • LOVE the name Olivia. It was on my short list of names for my baby, who is due in three months. We ruled it out because it's a little more common than some of the other names we liked. Unlike everyone else here, I kind of like the name Chance. It's not one I would pick, but I like it. Of course, my husbands name is Champ, and I really REALLY like him. :-)
  • Actually I must say that my name is Olivia and I like it just fine! if i had any other name it would be Sophie or Sophia. Chance would be a good name because there are not many Chances out there and it is fun to have a name that is kinda rare.
  • For the love of all that is good in this world, please do not saddle any child with a last name for a first name.
  • I like the name Olivia, but it's too popular for me to like it enough to recommend someone else use it or use it myself. There are so many Olivia's now that the name has lost its ''specialness'', the same thing has happened with names like ''Jessica'', ''Chloe'', ''Grace'' -- however pretty they may be. Personally I'd be reluctant to use a name inside the Top 50 name list, and I'd prefer it to be outside the Top 100. As for the name Chance, I have to agree with the others who said it sounds like a dog's name. I don't like it, sorry :(
  • I love olivia because she can be libby chance i dont like because its my dogs name and its sounds like oh he gave me my chance
  • Are you american. Ive noticed that most american people like names that sound like games. chance, tag, hunter...
  • Well i like the name Chance , in fact my son's name is Chance! And the reason for this is that he gave me a second Chance at life! I broke both my hip and ankle in a terrible car accident. So both legs were broken, and didn't know if having children would be possible for me, seeing i might not be able to bear such weight on my legs ever again! Needless to say, he is the best thing that has ever happen to me, and the best CHANCE i ever got, to be able to experience such a wonderful joy of having a child!!!! So don't listen to these people, their thoughts are not of their own, but of societies! Stereotyping is the worst thing that we do in this world, not knowing the situation that someone is in or where they are coming from! If u feel something true to ur heart, then do it, no matter what anyone says. It will be a great example to ur kids when they get older! To stand out from the crowd and not be like everyone else!!! Too many people today are "followers" and not "leaders"! Oh, and yes Olivia is a nice name too, it is truely what u feel in ur heart that makes that name so special!:)
  • Name the girl 'Hope' and name the boy either 'Hope' or 'Rhori.'
  • Olivia's too popular at the moment, but I'd go for Chance. Nice and simple, but not too popular yet: http://www.babynamespedia.com/meaning/Chance
  • i knew an olivia and she was a bit strange. i probably wouldnt name her that. i personally would flip the names and name the girl chance and the boy oliver. i think those are very cute.
  • Olivia is a great name. Very pretty. Chance is a solid name. But do you know your son will have to spell it every time he says it? Our last name is Chance and you wouldn't believe how often we spell it! Our daughter's name just happens to be Olivia, so I definitely like it!
