I'm turning 30 in less than a month and feeling down. Do you have any words of advice to cheer me up?

I felt awful on my 30th birthday. I didn't want to do anything and my dad and sister made me go out to eat. What I didn't realize was that my 31st birthday was even worse! All of a sudden I wasn't just 30, I was IN my 30's! But then I realized that life is even better than it was when I was younger. So don't worry about it...go out and party!

That's not even bad. 30 is a good age. Instead of being young and stupid you're a little older and seasoned. Not by much, just slightly. Your life can still be as fun as you want it to be.

Yes, be happy your not 40-ish! 30 is a great age & actually as you age life gets better. Your no longer worried about the little things that can plaque the 20's & 30's. Your more comfortable in your skin so to speech. At least that's where I'm at in life. Cheer up, 30 is wonderful!!! :o)

You are in control of your own life. You can do anything you want. You have a blank canvas- paint anything you want on it. Do something drastic. Sell all your stuff and downsize. Try something new. Get a slurpee. Go to target and buy a new calandar to write it all down in. Write a letter to someone. Sit on your couch and do nothing. Skip to the store. ride bikes. Figure out why you're feeling down. Write a list of the things that you want to do before you die and start crossing things off. Believe that when you die, you're going to heaven (sure way to feel good)... :) Good luck ! Tell us the results.

Think like a computer scientist, and calculate your age in base 16. You'll still be a teenager, 1E years old! (After 1-9, there are the "numbers" A thru F, and then comes "10", but it's the number you think of as 16. There's one in the "16s" column, and zero in the "ones" column. "1E" is 1x16 = Ex1, which is 16 + E or 16 + 14 = 30. "25" in hex would be 2x16, plus 5x1, or 37.) ... OK, ok, but people who've taken a few IT classes will at least smile.

I know it sounds trite, but it's really true - you're not getting older, you're getting better. Aging just gives you a chance to get better - just like anything else.

30 ain't nothin' but a number! It didn't bother me too much...until a couple years later when my younger brother turned 30. I just turned 45 last week...and I'm a lot happier now than I was at 30. It's not the end of the world...you're still young!

I've felt down around my birthday for over a decade, but it passes quickly. Your birthday will come and go then be forgotten, just like my last dozen. Age is a number, that's all.

My mother told me that life didn't start until 40. She lied.. my life didn't get into full swing until I was 50 and it is continually speeding up. So at 30 what's over? you think your sex life will die??? Guess again. that gets better too. You think you will lose your looks??? maybe to 20 year olds you will... but you will find older people increasingly attractive.. in short, your life will become filled with more of what you want to fill it with... you will become more of you...You lose nothing by turning 30 or 40 or 50 or ..... It really does get better..trust me!

30 is where I am. It is a good place. You are mature, you (hopefully) have a good job. Maybe you have a budding family, but maybe you are instead a confident single guy, which women like.

i'm 30yrs old. and believe it or not, when i turned 30 last year, i didn't feel any different. i thought i'd get all down in the dumps and blue b/c oh my god i'm getting "old" but you know what, i'm so glad to be out of my 20's.......thank god i survived....i've had more fun in the past 7months since my 30th b/d then i've ever had......i know where i want my life to go and i'm heading in that direction.......find out if you haven't yet where you want your life to be in X amount of years and start working toward it....don't look @ turning 30 as a "death" sentence, look @ it as a New beginning to a life well lived........have a great day, and hey, welcome to the club.......

I loved my 30's. I'm turning 50 in 9 months and can't wait, in fact I tell people I'm 59. It makes me look better. Tell everyone you're 40! You'll get LOTS of compliments.
