  • I always do. For your best chance, sit near water, lie on a lilo in a pool or something. The light reflects more, giving you a bigger chance of a tan!
  • Yes!! I wear SPF 50 and still get sunburnt if I'm in the sun too long.
  • Really if you use sun bloack to not get a tan completely such as putting on the new Helioplex stuff that is spf 70 and re apply every hour faithfully you will not get sun burned, but there will be no tanning either. Basically you have to slowly introduce your skin to the sun to tan and not too much or you burn.
  • They say that anything over SPF 30 doesn't really work much better and that it may be as low as SPF 18. Not good news. SO most people just put it on once and expect the sunblock to keep working X amount of time it takes them to burn. You may skip the whole tanning part and go right to burn because you spend so much time in the sun with sunblock on and miss out on the initial time in the sun when a tan might more likely happen. Burns happen all the time with sunblock on. You have to apply before any sun exposure and continue every couple of hours on the sunniest days. Any sweating and water will take away the sunblock.
