As a child that's what I did late at night when I was supposed to be sleeping. I was watching all the old movies from the 1930's-1940's. Some had more than others, "One the waterfront" was one, because I had to make a decision as a young man which direction my life was going. There were many others with James Cagney, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, John Garfield. The common theme to these movies was the inner battle between being a good man or a selfish hurtful one. It was always difficult to choose the right path and those movies helped me.

Long time companion..I don't know whether it is a movie that has withstood the test of time..but when I saw it I was so overcome with grief at the end that I had to sit in a parking lot for about 1/2 hour afterward just to stop crying and compose myself. That and 'An Inconvenient Truth' because it is a beautiful film...and because whether you believe it is hype or not..it is an important topic that we should be talking about.

Legacy (historical fiction based in true stories about pioneers; the venue made a difference, too) Charly (the one with Heather Beers and a white and black cover, not the old brown one; the first film that shows a complete picture of romance) Bambi (my first film) Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The Goonies (especially growing up) National Treasure (made me realize I could have action, treasure hunting, and patriotism in one film) Very few movies have any power for good, but I admire those that do. The next best thing is if they make you laugh.
