  • It requires going to te dealer with your VIN. they will give you the code. To reset it they would have to hook it to the computer/analyzer. Not something you are likely to do yourself unless you want to spend about $150,000 for your own computer/analyzer.
  • The better car engine check computers can clear many codes but doubt if they can add new codes. I have an inexpensive one (about $60) and it works OK at identifying problems but don't think it will erase an engine light warning(?)
