  • I must. Despite having parents who chose their friends by political and social labels, I can have great friendships with people whose lifestyles completely differ from mine.
  • Do you mean policital as in being "politically correct" or to live your life without caring about what our government is up to? I can live without being politically correct. Half the time I'm not being politically correct. I cannot live without knowing what's going on in the world of politics though.
  • I can. I gave up on man’s politics years ago. I started reading The Bible and I came to see that these words are true: “To earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.” Jeremiah 10:23 “Do not put your trust in nobles, nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.”—Psalm 146:3. “There is no salvation in anyone else, for there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.” Acts 4:12 I am announcing and awaiting God’s Kingdom to bring blessings to all peoples across the earth.
  • I have strong political beliefs and opinions. I feel that being political is important in our time. I am not going to be 'represented' as an American citizen by a government that is not listening to it's people. The US is not currently feeling like a democracy. That being said, I have strong friendships with people who do not share my beliefs. I do not determine another person's worth or value by their political opinion. Nor do I concern myself with social labels.
  • hmmm, dunno, usually Im either defending something, or attacking something else. Im more for biblebashing than anything, mainly because the bible bashes my friends, and such.
  • Well - I would say that I don't have a great deal of interest in politics. But perhaps some would say that the way that people live their everyday lives is to do with politics. So, maybe people can't live without being political, even if they think that they aren't being political.
  • Having strong political opinions about the world is merely an extension of caring what goes on around you, how and why things are the way they are, and what can be done to improve it. I have strong political opinions, but myself and most people I know do not care about politics for the sake of politics. It's just the side effect of being concerned about issues that affect us all, and an important element of living in a (supposedly) democratic society.
  • Definitely . I've never taken any interest because everytime a new Party gets in my day doesn't change one little bit !!
  • im not a political person at all i have no interest in it i dont care who is prime ministor or president and i feel if i was interested i couldnt help or make a difference anyway
  • In the "olden" days being political meant only that you were a Democrat, Republican or Independent and that you voted for those who seemed to make the most sense to you. I don't remember the vitriol, the vile attacks, the lies, the "spinning" of the truth, the flunky henchmen and henchwomen who were sent out to say nasty things that the candidate wanted to say..perhaps I remember incorrectly..being political today is far different..it's a lot harder to remain civil and there are landmines and quicksand at every turn. I speak for myself, as an American, and only myself. It is impossible for me to live without being political..only it is far more dangerous these days.:(
  • The man who put up this answer had guts to put up this question. He lives in a country where most people do not have a say in their government. If anyone asks him about politics, I am sure he has to evade the question and change the subject, as most of the people who would do this kind of thing for him are spies out to get bad things about the United States. He cannot tell us these things. I have been to Vietnam. It's a poor but lovely country. Its people seem free although most do not have a voice in their country's government. Since LT put this up, I don't want to say anything bad about Vietnam, as this could actually get him in trouble... maybe. You should all know for the length of time this young man has been in Vietnam, he has had to remain extremely quiet about his politics or he wouldn't be allowed to stay so long.
  • I can't, for if you don't take an active role in politics, you will be used by someone. Politics, in my opinion, is just as important as religion, for religion carries over into politics, for many Christians are Republicans, though I won't speak of democrats.
  • Me. I let my mom handle that department. She's the most conservative Liberal I've ever met.
  • *Raises hand.* Moi.
  • I can live without many things I'm sure being political isn't on the top of my Need To Have list
  • I can't. I'm not that into politics, but I can't stand a bad government. However, I that doesn't mean I can't have friends who support the opposing party.
