Yes.

Of course people should choose their own careers. During childhood, parents can help them to identify their passions and talents and develop those, so that they have options and opportunities.
-
Yes of course. It would be hard for their kids to be in a job that they don't love.
-
yes with some "gentle guidance"
-
My parents wanted me to be a dentist so I could give them free dental coverage. Needless to say, I'm not a dentist - and they were only half joking. But parents shouldn't force a career path upon their children
-
G'day Qua bi do, Thank you for your question. Yes. It's their life. However, you can provide some useful advice and assistance in choosing the right job for them. Regards
-
In the present day world many parents may not have the exposure to different careers available in the field. Better to allow the children to choose their career.
-
What about their parents? Parents are people who want to give the best things to their children. So, a rewarding job may be one of their wishes. In addition, parents know their children better than anyone else. They know what are suitable or not. What do you think?
-
sure, why not?
-
What!? You people are crazy. I suppose next you'll say parents shouldn't choose their children's spouses either.
-
Most parents only want the best for their children. Its hard to let them make bad decisions. They really shouldn't choose their child's career. The should try to offer guidance and support. Have a little patience with parents. Most try to do the right thing but they are human after all.
-
Of course! It would be dandy if children always wanted to have the same career as their parents, because practically, the parents could teach their children about the profession and it would be more personal. Unless the parent were unemployed. But not everyone wants to do the same thing as their parents; people just aren't wired like that.
-
The real question is, why shouldn't they?
-
I think it's fine for parents to help guide their children and offer advice, taking into consideration what their kids are like and what their talents are. But the final word should be the children and they shouldn't be trying to make them live the lives they missed out on if the kids don't want that.
-
Of course. If your child is choosing their career, I'm assuming that they aren't a "child" but an adult capable of making their own decisions in life.
-
yes they should do so , and also they should tell them the practicality of life so that the children can choose a proper career for themselves
-
absolutly, otherwise they could be set up for failure, or misery.
-
Do the parents really have a say so in that, anyway?!
-
parents should guide the children ,help them to realise the pros and cons of their decision
-
Of course.
-
Always.
-
