Well i have had a dui and went through a thirty day residential treatment for alcohol dependency. I dont drink any more. But i still think it would be bull shit and fight it. Its your free choice....
-
I honestly wouldn't care. I've never drank it before. Well once and the aftermath was horrible.
-
It would be good for antisocial behaviour, but personally for me - ARRRRRRRRRRR NOOO, since everyone has the right to choose.
-
Prohibition again, really?
-
Content that we now have more space for more orange juice in the coolers in the produce section of the supermarket.
-
"Remember the good old days when we had freedom to choose how to live our lives?"
-
Personal consumption: I would not care. I seldom think about drinking it. Business wise: I would have to do a reset at the store. Personal view: Haven't we tried that before? I believe it didn't work.
-
Cheers! cause I don't drink.
-
*weeps*
-
Move to the closest "Wet County".
-
A sobering thought ;)
-
I'd honestly commit suicide if that were to happen.
-
Where's the rope ?
-
It wouldn't bother me 'personally', since I don't drink it anyway, but I know that it will anger a wide range of people and in most cases I am opposed to the prohibition of any substances that aren't immediately dangerous (or capable of being immediately dangerous) to people. For example, Alcohol should be allowed but have regulations on it (minimum drinking age, etc), Marijuana should be allowed but have regulations on it, etc. In all instances where the substance can be 'somehow' dangerous to it's users or other people, there should be completely clear and detailed warnings about the problems (as with tobacco and alcohol, at least where I live).

They tried that silly game back in the twenties-thirties, fyrespryte, and it was a disaster. It criminalized something that was never a criminal thing. At least not in this country. And it stopped no one from having a drink if they wanted one. That can never be legislated away from the working man. He will just make his own. And it certainly never affected the upper class. They could still import their "good stuff" from Europe or Canada. It was one of the biggest farces this country ever invented. It cost greatly. And, it was never voted on...it was simply "legislated". How it came into being is a fascinating patchwork of political and pseudo-religious hypocrisy.

I brew my own beer, and I know how to build and operate a still. All I need to do is buy a tommy gun, a pinstripe suit and a Fedora hat, and I'll be fine.

Banned where? On the positive side: 1. I would lose weight. 2. I would save money. 3. Less drunk driving deaths. The negatives: 1. Many businesses would be shut down, not what the economy needs right now. 2. Many people would be unemployed. 3. The states and country would lose many millions of dollars in tax revenue. 4. Illegal moonshiners would be back in business. 5. The courts and prisons would be overflowing with people who break this law, they are overflowing now. 6. Many people would attempt to smuggle alcohol in from other countries. 7. Some people might turn to drugs.
-
Couldn't care less.
-
I'd be very happy
-
At first I would cry, then I would get angry, then I would buy a still and open a Speakeasy.
-
"Thank GOD! I'll be able to DRIVE on weekends again... Waitaminit... didn't they try this once?"
-
I'd become a criminal.
