  • Honey, you can become the Virgin Mary. She was one, too!
  • They'll let you come to their church. Be nice as h**l but no they will never fully accept you and will forever judge you for your past decisions. My family members were and are Mormon and I speaking from their personal experiences with the church.
  • One of the major doctrine of the Church is repentance. None of us is perfect. All of us are constantly falling short of the mark set for us be the Father. This is why He sent His Son to pay for our sins. So that we could repent and have those sins washed away by His atonement. Of course you can become a member and any one who judges you unfavorable because of past mistakes, especially those made before you accepted the gospel and were baptized, is themselves in need of repentance. Personally, I understand that being a single parent can be very difficult. I don't know the circumstances surround your becoming a single mom. (Personally, that is really none of mine or anybody else's business. So, I am not asking how it happened.) The important thing is that you have taken responsibility for raising your child(ren). So, yes, you can become a member of the Church and the other members of your congregation should welcome you with open arms.
  • Yes, I have two best friends that are singal mom's and members.
  • Of course you can!
  • Before you are baptized, you go through an interview to determine if you are converted, and to verify you know the covenants you make through baptism. The interviewer should not delve into past sins - only ask if you accept those covenants from now on. You are a single mother, so they will ask a few additional questions - such as making sure you understand and are currently living the law of chastity -- single parents may be baptized, but unmarried couples must first be married. There are multiple ways of becoming a single mom - and not all of them are sinful. In any case, baptism is symbolic of your sins being washed away by the blood of the Lamb, so this will not affect your standing within the Church.
  • Don't repent. That is the problem with Mormons. They preach hate and oppression. There is no reason to hate yourself for the way life has treated you. It's not your fault. The Mormon religion thrives on instilling fear in the hearts and souls of its followers. This is what keeps people coming and giving money. MORMONS HATE, OPPRESS, and can't handle the real world. They have been brought up with constant oppression and structure and cannot think for themselves. They lose their ability to think rationally and so they never question the lies and hate that they accept as a religion.
  • Nope, but you can become a more mom :)
  • My sister has tattoo's and is divorced and she converted to Mormonism. I don't think past sins count.
  • Of course you can. Lots of single parents are members. The question is whether you believe in and want to live according to its teachings.
  • if you have to ask that about a 'religion' then you probably wouldn't wanna be a part of them!!............why the hell would they object to a single mother? never heard anything good about the mormon church; sorry!!!!
    • Glenn Blaylock
If you have never heard anything good about the Mormon Church, then you have definitely been listening to the wrong sources.
  • I don't know why anyone would want to join the Mormon church. they look good on the surface but inside they are a big cult.
