  • Because the reason he defied God was his hate for the attention God gave man. Lucifer hates man and blames man for taking the attention away from angels. Or so I have heard.
  • G'day DantheDinosaur, Thank you for your question. It depends on the tradition that you follow with some denying the literal existence of Lucifer. The theory that you state doesn't make much sense. I have attached sources for your reference. Regards Wikipedia Lucifer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucifer
  • Satan defied God because he wanted to BE God. He was punished by kicking him out of Heaven, where he is allowed to "wreak havoc" all over the earth and cause problems for us. It is not God that causes suffering, but Satan. God allows Satan to do this though, to test our faith. God is allowing Satan to be all over the earth and cause all these problems, in the hopes that it will bring as many people as possible to Him (God) before He comes back in His Second Coming. At that time, Satan will be thrown ito Hell forever-never to be allowed to cause problems again. It's not that sinners are punished by Lucifer for defying God...it's that Satan LOVES to cause as many problems as possible...anything from sickness, to car wrecks, to breaking a nail, to death, etc. etc. He causes these things so that we will CURSE God and draw away from Him. Satan wants as many followers as possible, to hurt God more for throwing him out of Heaven. God is allowing this for the time being, but in the end, God WILL win the battle. :)
  • The 'punishment' is not being punished by satan, but being excluded or separated from God's presence
  • I dont think Lucifer is truely as the bible depicts him as. so far Lucifer hasnt lied to mankind. (I personally dont believe in either god, nor Lucifer)
  • Hell is a place where God's grace is totally absent not where the devil reigns.
  • Sinners will suffer in hell simply because they have the choice to be christlike or a sinner! It is as plain as that. We have guidelines to follow. Why work so hard to go to heaven if all the people that could have cared less, get to go there too?? (Not a question) Satan wanted to be god. That was not going to happen. Satan and his little tribe of followers got cast out of heaven and when the rapture comes, a angel will come and take them and the followers of him to the pits of hell to burn for eternity.. I would much rather dedicate my life to him- and walk the streets of gold for eternity! There are many different ways to defy-blastpheme god. You have to watch your step and how you state a simple question....
  • A devil of a question. I've found it impossible to use logic when trying to understand religious text.
  • Satan was kicked out of heaven. He was one of God's most beautiful angelic creations. He tried to overthrow God, but God would not allow it. Satan's punishment for rebelling against God is hell. He will live there through eternity. Satan tempted mankind (God's crowning creation). Satan told them they would be like God if they ate of the tree, knowing good and evil. Esentially they committed the same sin as Satan. Hell was never meant for mankind, but their sin had to be punished. Satan is not in charge of hell. God is. He will pour out his righteous anger forever on sinners. People say hell will be the absence of God. It will be the absence of God's love and mercy, but he WILl be there. The difference between Satan and mankind is that God made a way of escape through his Son, Jesus. Jesus took the full brunt of God's wrath on the cross. He shed his blood and he paid for mankind's sin. Whoever turns from their sin and believes in Christ does not have to go to hell, but will be a child of God and not his enemy. He will live in Heaven with Jesus through all eternity. God hates sin. God is sovereign. God is righteous. The devil is a defeated foe and does whatever he can to cause mankind to sin and be in hell forever with him.. Christ paid for your sins. He took your punishment. Believe and be saved or die without Christ and be cast into the lake of fire (hell) that was originally meant for the Satan and his angels.
  • Satan is Prideful, hateful, and frustrated right now. And his sanity is very questionable at this point. Satan isn't 'punishing' them, he's more like a kid with a magnifying glass burning bees to get a sweet smell out of them.
  • They are not...At death there is no ongoing punishment... (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6) For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 9:10) Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going. No punishment, no action.
  • Go to hell and ask Lucifer
  • Newsflash! Satan is a dick. He'll torture you for shits n giggles.
  • not sure but it dont make sense
  • Satan is not the creator of hell. Rather, hell was created by God as a place of everlasting torment for Satan and his demons. It is also a place of judgment for those who follow the ways of Satan and continue to rebel against God. Colossians 3:5-6 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things' sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience:"
  • You mean why would Satan dislike those who disobeyed the same as him? Well, the motive of the nachash (shinning one, enchanter, bewitcher) shows he wanted man to fall from God's grace, where they were completely satisfied, where there was no killing or death, and they did. As a result man gives in to his evil inclination which leads to sin and death. . If the nachash knew this would happen, do you think he likes you or would care to look on you favourably? 2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
  • Who said Lucifer punishes sinners? Do you have a scriptural reference?
  • SImple answer and it is your ego that keeps you from seeing it. Satan doesn't care at all about you, He is superior to you in every way. What he does care about is attacking God by your sins. But fact is Satan thinks you are a fool and mindlessly oblivious to the great good God holds out for you. And how fitting that you get Satan's company as your reward.
