  • Ooo!!! I've been studying that! So I've got your back brother! Many a time, three that I can think of, the Bible talks about God setting a seal. OSAS advocates typically use these verses: John 6:27, 2Corinthians 1:22, and Ephesians 1:22. John 6:27- On Him God has placed His seal of approval.(NIV) This is taken out of context. This is Paul using a metaphor to say that God has approved of Jesus and the perfect life He led. 2Corinthians 1:22- Set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.(NIV) Good. They understand that when a king sent a letter, he sealed it, and no one could break the seal, except for the king himself. They forget that the person the letter is for can also break the seal. Not only that, but you can come to a point where God will give up on you. Look throughout the Old Testament. A haunting verse lies hidden in the book of Hosea 4:17 Ephraim is joined to idols; Let him alone.(NASB) Ephraim was a name for Israel. God gave up on His own chosen people. So yes, there is a point to where God will "let you alone". Judges 10:13-14 13"Yet you have forsaken Me and served other gods; therefore I will no longer deliver you. 14Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your distress."(NASB) Another example of God letting people go their own way. There's a few others, but I gotta go. I hope that helped!
  • Justification is different than salvation. What Jesus DID for all is done in his blood, Rom 5;9. what Jesus does IN a believer's life is salvation during his life-the work He does in us daily. 5:10. And what He does THROUGH us is to witness. Salvation is for the believer, whereas the blood is for all."for the righteousness of God which is by the faith OF Jesus Christ FOR ALL and upon all that believe for there is no difference Rom. 3:22 (between the believer and the non believer--for all have sinned. KJV.You are a brand new creation (being) in christ-the old has passed away and behold all has become new.We do not have a dual nature.Rom. 3:22 is only in the KJV most others versions have altered the verse.maranatha2@comcast.net
  • All these verses are before the cross took place. Now the gift is for all and upon all that believe for there is no difference. Romm 3:22 It i9s through His faith not ours.
  • (Matthew.5:20 & 7:21) (Romans.11:22) (I Timothy.4:1) (Hebrews.10:26,27) (II Peter.2:20,21)
  • 'Once Saved, Always Saved' is the resemblance of: 'Once a Sinner, Always a Sinner'. In other words, you cannot lose your salvation, even if you continue to wallow in the mud in sin like a filthy pig. LMAO
  • There are examples in the Bible of people who were in God
  • not sure but i know its not true
  • The whole Bible? I believe that salvation can be lost any time before death. (Hebrews 3:12-14) Beware, brothers, for fear there should ever develop in any one of YOU a wicked heart lacking faith by drawing away from the living God; 13 but keep on exhorting one another each day, as long as it may be called "Today," for fear any one of YOU should become hardened by the deceptive power of sin. 14 For we actually become partakers of the Christ only if we make fast our hold on the confidence we had at the beginning firm to the end, (Romans 11:22) See, therefore, God's kindness and severity. Toward those who fell there is severity, but toward you there is God's kindness, provided you remain in his kindness; otherwise, you also will be lopped off. (Revelation 2:10) Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer. Look! The Devil will keep on throwing some of YOU into prison that YOU may be fully put to the test, and that YOU may have tribulation ten days. Prove yourself faithful even to death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Matthew 24:13) But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. I do not believe that the Bible teaches once saved always saved. I believe that the scriptures show that endurance to the end is needed. These scriptures seem to imply that some who were once saved, including those who have tasted the heavenly gift, could fall away. Please look them up for yourself, as my understanding of why these were written may be different than yours. Heb 6:4-6, 10:26,27, Jude 3-5, Mt 24:13, 1Cor 9:27 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Heb6:4-6;Heb10:26-27;Jude3-6;mt24:13;1Cor9:27;&version=49; 2Pet2:20-22, Jude4, Heb10:36-38, Ez33:18, Phil 2:12 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Pet2:20-22;Heb10:36-38;Jude4;ez33:18;%20phil2:12;&version=49;9; (Hebrews 6:4-6) For it is impossible as regards those who have once for all been enlightened, and who have tasted the heavenly free gift, and who have become partakers of holy spirit, 5 and who have tasted the fine word of God and powers of the coming system of things, 6 but who have fallen away, to revive them again to repentance, because they impale the Son of God afresh for themselves and expose him to public shame. (Hebrews 10:26-27) For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left, 27 but [there is] a certain fearful expectation of judgment and [there is] a fiery jealousy that is going to consume those in opposition. (Jude 3-5) Beloved ones, though I was making every effort to write YOU about the salvation we hold in common, I found it necessary to write YOU to exhort YOU to put up a hard fight for the faith that was once for all time delivered to the holy ones. 4 My reason is that certain men have slipped in who have long ago been appointed by the Scriptures to this judgment, ungodly men, turning the undeserved kindness of our God into an excuse for loose conduct and proving false to our only Owner and Lord, Jesus Christ. 5 I desire to remind YOU, despite YOUR knowing all things once for all time, that Jehovah, although he saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterwards destroyed those not showing faith. (1 Corinthians 9:27) but I pummel my body and lead it as a slave, that, after I have preached to others, I myself should not become disapproved somehow. (Hebrews 12:1) So, then, because we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also put off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, (John 15:2) Every branch in me not bearing fruit he takes away, and every one bearing fruit he cleans, that it may bear more fruit. (John 15:6) If anyone does not remain in union with me, he is cast out as a branch and is dried up; and men gather those branches up and pitch them into the fire and they are burned. (Romans 8:15-17) For YOU did not receive a spirit of slavery causing fear again, but YOU received a spirit of adoption as sons, by which spirit we cry out: “Abba, Father!" 16 The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God's children. 17 If, then, we are children, we are also heirs: heirs indeed of God, but joint heirs with Christ, provided we suffer together that we may also be glorified together. (Matthew 10:22) And YOU will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name; but he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. (Luke 13:24) “Exert yourselves vigorously to get in through the narrow door, because many, I tell YOU, will seek to get in but will not be able, (2 Peter 1:10-11) For this reason, brothers, all the more do YOUR utmost to make the calling and choosing of YOU sure for yourselves; for if YOU keep on doing these things YOU will by no means ever fail. 11 In fact, thus there will be richly supplied to YOU the entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 12:25) See that YOU do not beg off from him who is speaking. For if they did not escape who begged off from him who was giving divine warning upon earth, much more shall we not if we turn away from him who speaks from the heavens. (2 Peter 2:21-22) For it would have been better for them not to have accurately known the path of righteousness than after knowing it accurately to turn away from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 The saying of the true proverb has happened to them:The dog has returned to its own vomit, and the sow that was bathed to rolling in the mire.
